You agree? If you love yourself and your family or whom you living for you want do anything harmful to yourself.
I think that people that smoke just don't care about them self and don't want to live anyway.

Unfortunately that is a fault of human psychology. Many people are convinced that bad things won't happen to them because they have taken risks in the past and not experienced any negative affects. Whether they realize it or not, they are living for the present and not the future. In otherwords, many people take risks because the pleasure they derive from it is almost guaranteed and immediate whereas any negative affects are sporadic and delayed far into the future.

$16.00 a pack? Wow. I thought they were high here in the U.S. Why do people eat cheeseburgers when they know they cause heart attacks? Why do people drive too fast when they know it can cause a crash? Every question does not have a single correct answer. I suppose they would if we lived in a perfect world. I smoke 1 pack a day. Sometimes 1 and 1/2. I wish I had never started. I have halfheartedly tried to quit a few times, but I have never really put alot of effort into it. I really should quit but I am smoking right now while I type. If they cost $16.00 a pack, I would have to quit whether I wanted to or not. I couldn't pay that.

Sweetheart, I see where you are trying to go with this. How about tanning? do you tan? Do you wear sunscreen every day? I don't feel sorry for these women who look like beef jerky from tanning and then get melanoma. At least smokers have a reason: nicotine is addictive. Any idiot can stop going to the tanning bed and stay out of the sun.

Also, please do not make blanket generalizations about people that smoke. You don't know every single person that smokes, nor do you know their reasons. Everyone has a vice....smoking, tanning, eating junk food, not exercising. And every individual has reasons. You are not omniscient and cannot know them all.

You are foolish in your belief..........smoking is an addiction, and it's not that smoker's don't want to live anyway, it's they are addicted to the nicotine. I know, I smoke, but I do love myself, I enjoy living, I simply started smoking when most kids do(13 for me)and never thought that I wouldn't be able to quit. Well, my mom recently passed of lung cancer(yes she smoked, for 60yrs!)but her smoking in now way made her less of a human being, she was a wonderful, caring, generous person, who was addicted to nicotine. I have tried to quit three times in the past year, without success. I've tried the newest drug used, Chantix, without success. I am addicted to nicotine..............................and I enjoy life everyday!

Not all lung cancer patients smoke. My mum never smoked a day in her life but she got it. It a personal chose if someone smokes, its there decision they have to live with whatever happens.

People who smoke never think they will be the ones to get cancer. They always think they will be the lucky ones to escape the consequences of smoking. Everyone wants to live; but people who smoke need to stop living in denial.

there's no doubt that smoking is bad for you, but it really is not the sole cause of cancer!
My uncle died with lung cancer aged 49, had not smoked for 20 years!
My dad died with lung cancer aged 62...just this year, although recently had stopped smoking he had smoked for 40 years previous to that....but his post mortem results showed smoking was NOT the cause of his cancer...the inquest recorded death by Industrial disease......Asbestos ! which he had worked with some years before his death

It is very addictive physically and psychologically. If it weren't so addicting, more people would quit and quit sooner.
