The main weapons used by Saddam Hussein in the war with Iran and against Iraq's Kurds were supplied by many countries. The bulk of his armour, aircraft, artillery, and small arms were supplied by the Soviet Union. Much of the other arms came from China and France. Saddam even bought artillery from South Africa and Austria.

Ahem, FYI, Saddam's execution had nothing to do with his fighting the Iranians. He was executed based on a trial over charges that he had wantonly murdered a number of Iraq's own citizens. He would have been tried and convicted of more, but unfortunately the Iraqi Constitution calls for more immediate execution than in the American system
Edit: It should also be noted that while he did commit crimes against humanity, he was tried and convicted by Iraqi courts for crimes against Iraqis.

Yes they certainly should, and hope they will face criminal charges. But I wonder if it is legal to bring charges against them? With their decision being a religious one and all. The government tends to tiptoe around peoples religious beliefs for fear of offending or violating your personal rights to believe. But if the government continues to "protect" the religious, soon you'll be able to outright kill someone and claim it was a sacrifice for god, or some other religious reason, and get away with it.

Think about how Russia, China and France were Saddam's chief suppliers of modern weaponry.
Typical of the left they would seek to blame an American before Putin, Chirac or Hu

oh boy more stuff that just divides this nation on two sides while the nation as a whole get nothing done. I think stuff like this need to be called "Nothing Politics" because it proves nothing, creates nothing, and in the end does nothing for anyone! Good Job lets here some more about nothing so we can get nothing accomplished and provide nothing that matters to our children future. I guess this will be the generation known as the do nothing generation.

There are plenty of reasons to bring up charges, of course the same could be said of Clinton and his bombing of the Serbs in the 90's to stop an ethnic cleansing in Kosovo that never happened but the west was convinced by local moslums that is was happening
sound familier?

No it is not ironic. You have never had a friend that you ended up changing your mind about? With your logic we should never try to become friends with Russia and Germany because we were once enemies.
