When they stop being religious?
Religion is a product of instinct....
Instinct self-serves...
Self-servitude hates personal blame almost as much as it hates personal responsibility.

True believers don't blame satan (i'm assuming this is the fictitious figure you speak of) for everything. God clearly states and points out that we have free will and we make our own decsions. God shows a way we choose to accept it or not. Perfect example Adam and Eve God told them if they eat of the tree life they will have peace and harmony and life abundantly(no sickness, no pain) But don't eat from the tree of good and evil ( causing, doubht, pain, suffering) Eve and Adam made the choice to disobey God. So your right it is our responsibility to take action for what we choose to do.

This one is to good to pass up, so sorry!
Religious folk in this instance, are like Republicans, trying to blame everything on the liberals! They (REP,) never take responsibility for their actions either!

yeah. right on.
be carefull though,
people need to follow, they are a heard species. something else will just replace god, possibly something more sinister. Behind religion is just manipulation of some people with ideas, some are power motivated, but most's heart is at least in the right place.

It can't be stamped out, but it might be educated out. I'd like to see how long this magical thinking would last if the media and all forms of education emphasised the benefits of reality - without removing the fun of imagination, of course.

It takes a strong spirit to claim responsibility. So I guess the answer to your question is NEVER. Xians/muslim, etc., have to have their god to excuse their weakness and ignorance. Then they have to shove it down grownups' throats so they can feel vindicated in their delusion.

That's my point. We've invented Satan / the devil as a scapegoat. When all evil on the planet comes from no-one other than man himself.
