have you taken a paternity test or admitted to being the father of the child? If you did, then the answer is YES, it makes no differeance if you are on the birth certificate or not.
If it is questionable if you are the father, ask for a paternity test.

Probably.

If you decide not to pay it because you're not on the birth certificate, she can petition the court to compel you to pay. At that point, they'd most likely order a paternity test, and if it comes back that you're the baby's father, they can require you to pay it.

Just do the right thing. If you know your'e the baby's father, provide for it. You don't have to be dad of the year or anything, but you were one of the two people who set the ball in motion, resulting in a person being born. You should be responsible for the baby's financial well-being.

my partner is going through the same thing so i know how it feels he pays £240 a month for both his children however he found out that with the youngest he isn't on the birth certificate and therefore doesn't have the same surname as him after 8 years it was a bit of a shock as his ex enrolled him at school and eveything with my partners surname so he wouldn't find out.
you'll have to have a paternity test

I think if u say ur arent the father and she says that u are then u are made to have a paternity test, if u are the father and no u are, then u should want to pay for your child. You helped make it and even if u never wanted it or dont like the mother anymore its just tough. Somethings u can never undo.

If you are the father yes. If a woman is claiming you are the father of a baby and you think you are not a blood test will prove it one way or the other. Much as I detest fathers who don't pay child support, it also wrong to make someone who is not the father pay.

I thought the CSA had been shut down (maybe I am wrong) but surely it is your moral responsibility to provide for your child.

If you admit to being and act as though you have been the father, why wouldn't you want your children to have what you would give them anyway.

Think. If you been reasonable with the mother to begin with, would the CSA have been required?
