Just about EVERY atheist said that they had NO desire to “save” what they call poor, deluded, un-evolved, uneducated, and/or brainwashed Christians from their false beliefs and fears.

Isn’t this profoundly unloving, heartless, and callous?

while i'm seeing the same thing that you are seeing, the atheist are in fact trying to destroy any concept of religion in america

it happens through the indoctrination of children in schools to learn darwin's idea of how life started and how we are all an accident of nature.

it happens in television where "evolution" is the primary mover .....oh wait, there is no force behind evolution, that is only what it is called........stupid sheepeople, not thinking

it happens in the universities where students who stand prepared to defend the faith, can fail out because they take that stand.

look at bible schools that do not believe in the infallibility of the Word of God, or the cemeteries, I mean seminaries where people who do not even believe in God graduate and go out to preach .....that is blasphemy

but the fact that they are doing this is neither unloving, heartless or callous. They too have a commission from there god (satan) to destroy any faithful of the LORD and to promote godlessness at any cost.

I asked this question as a joke, is it morally wrong to kill an atheist since his idea that killing him is merely his opinion and there is no higher standard. If the LORD does not exist, it is one opinion over another.....

most people did not like it, and I understand that, after all, when you say their opinion is just an opinion, the guy who's opinion is about to die can get upset.

I support someone's right to be atheist, and to promote their opinions, I would just like them to have the same respect and hear the evidence I offer instead of them acting ignorantly.

I find the vast majority, (not all by any means, to be bigots )when it comes to answering the hard questions of creation, evolution, spirituality, human rights, and things of no value like if it is morally wrong to kill someone who can only offer an opinion and not an absolute truth

I chuckle while Christians convince themself that Christianity would not attempt to transform human beings because of the fact they most of the main delusional of all Theists, because of the fact the only reason there is billions of Christians around now may be the Roman and British empires compelled their ideals on each and every united states they may be able to beat, and the "worry rigidity" custom that Christianity continually promoted skill human beings basically say they suspect to have a non violent existence removed from Christians continually pressuring them to describe why they have not got faith.

I don't attempt to "convert" anyone. I do make available to those who are still capable of rational thought on the topic, the idea that maybe the beliefs they hold aren't the only possibility and hope they will "see the light" on their own. If they choose to continue to believe in what they do, that is their right.

"God" is imaginary, and men created the idea of deity, and "god" as a way to explain things they encountered for which they could not otherwise explain. Man created "god" in his own image because that made more sense than other forms (almost all "gods" throughout history had some human feature, although they may have had animistic features as well). Even the judeo-christian god was made into human form...in the person of a messiah (to save our souls from an imaginary place of punishment.)

Man continues to cling to the notion of the Divine to explain that which he cannot otherwise explain, but that make it the correct explanation.

Today's christian god is no more real and no more "the answer" than the gods of Greece, the Maya, of Rome, or any other mythology. Remember, the religion of today is the mythology of tomorrow.

They are too stupid to be of any use.

What is the point?

After you have removed their fantasies from them you would likely be left with a grown adult body with the intellectual capacity of a 3 year old.

Isn’t this profoundly unloving, heartless, and callous? Absolutely.

Because they actually believe in free-will. It's not heartless; it's a true example of being respectful of another person's right to choose their own path.

Atheist version of free will: Go ahead, choose your own path, that's cool with me. Live and let live.

Christian version of free will: Go ahead, choose your own path, but if you don't believe and do exactly as my religion says you're supposed to, then you are "choosing" to go to hell!

Which one is an example of respecting a person's right to choose their path and which one is an example of using threats to coerce a person to go in the direction you believe they should go?

The Christian God doesn't believe in TRUE free will, or there would be no punishment at all for choosing to reject him. It's like putting a gun to someone's head and saying "Do what I tell you to do or I'll shoot you". Do you really think that is giving someone viable "choices".

"O.K. I'll love you God, just please don't hurt me!

They are too busy insulting others. At least, that is what many of them do on this site.

They tell others they have the right to believe as they wish, and then it follows with insults for not believing as they do.
They just do what they think is right for them, should be right for all. They are not heartless or callous.

I think religion is something very personal. Whether i belive in christ or God or choose not to belive, its my own business. Most of the people who know me, never figured out what my belief is. (though i'm bit more open here). I prefer to stay out of others business just as i want them to stay out of mine.

It's heartless to not save them from a hell that doesn't exist? Most people should be able to make decisions for themselves. Some atheists are here to provide the "other" side that many people may not ever see. It should be up to them to decide what they want to be.

No, it is not heartless, it is a matter of numbers. There are so many people that need help. You can only help those that WANT help. Same as with drunks and drug addicts, until they are ready your pleas will fall on deaf ears. While you are trying the save the "deaf" the people that are "ready" are falling by the wayside.

But it would be fun to print little brochures that say "You are NOT going to Hell" or "Jesus is not going to save you, get off your A$$ and save yourself" and leave them door to door.

Peace.
