no, i'd rather not think my whole life is just a test.
i'd rather see it for what it is, which is everything.
if i stub my toe it hurts, why should i deny the pain by saying its nothing compared to the agony of hell.
similarly, why should the pleasures of this life [ love, poetry...the OC] be made to pale in comparrison to heaven?
life is fleeting and is all the more beautiful for it.

If you follow an organised religion, you cannot choose, because the definition of organised religion is as follows: a belief system that is dogmatic in nature. This means that the main base rules of the religion settle the existence of such things. For example Christianity claims that there is a place like Heaven and there is a place like Hell. Satanism, however claims, that there is no afterlife, so there is no Heaven and there is no Hell.

If you have your own beliefs, you can decide. The first question you have to discuss, whether you believe in afterlife or not. If you believe so, you have to decide the structure of afterlife. If you want two sides as good and bad you are done. Of course you can give them other names, but they'll remain the same: heaven and hell. For some people there is only one side of afterlife. For the Aztecs for example there was an underworld which consisted of seven levels.

But it is important, that you form religion, not the way round.

I personally do not believe in afterlife. For me there is no heaven as there is no hell, and I see death as a destroyer of life, not a gateway to an other world or life.

But I suppose if there is such a thing like hell, I will go there for my sins ... hehe ... trust me on that. :D

I certainly deserve Hell and I certainly don't deserve Heaven but the greatest glory in this life is to come to know the most glorious, wonderful Being, beyond imagination, perfect, pure and absolutely desirable, utterly righteous and holy beyond description and of infinite love, goodness and mercy.

Truly His lovingkindness is better than life itself and though my corruption is a serious hindrance I could all my days spend in the contemplation of His glory.

I am sorry that my words are inadequate to sufficiently convey.

Though both Heaven and Hell are of immense, I should say infinite consequence, yet they are made both as nothing and everything by the Presence of God.

To the heart that is changed, conformable to the Divine, that Presence is inexpressible joy and glory. To the heart unregenerate, that Presence exposes the agony of absolute depravity and the burning consciousness of sin.

Forever, unending, undiminishing, unveiled agonising, terrible self knowledge, knowing as God knows in the irradiating effulgence of His Presence.

The beauty and glory of God remains constant, it is our state, our inward state, that creates either Heaven or Hell when once we pass from our mortal probation in the veil of this flesh into the pure and dazzling Presence of God.

Now that I have come to know this how, oh how can this knowledge be made real to my fellow man? That he is full of madness and vain imaginations, consumed with the distractions of this passing world and experience and his own crazy opinions and thoughts - it is impossible to break through and communicate.

Until I remember, so it was once with me.

Yet if only he could be but put upon a serious enquiry before it is too late.

What will it take to arrest him and cause him to face, not religious beliefs but the obvious truth about himself?

It's symbolizes the yin and the yang in life. I don't think of heaven or hell as a place but as the definition of good and evil. I think it's all just too much hype. Too many worry about getting into heaven or hell and really...who knows if they even exist.

I would want Heaven to exist but not hell. But if I could not have Heaven without Hell then from my human perspective I guess I would want neither to exist.

If they did exist (which they don't)

I would be aiming at going on the express elevator to hell.

Down in hell is where all the good thimgs are, e.g. -
Prostitutes, drugs, alcohol, knives, guns, fire, demons and freddy crugger.

Why would you want to sit about up there with god, jesus and those pain-in-the-@ss nuns. All there is to do is sit on a cloud talking to the virgins and looking after gods creatures..........

FU@K THAT !!!

No, I prefer to think that once you die, that's all there is. I find the idea of Hell aversive for obvious reasons, but I find the idea of Heaven aversive as well. Supposedly Heaven is a place where everyone's happy all the time, and that is impossible. If there is no capacity for misery, there is no capacity for happiness, because those states of mind are relative to each other. Happiness has value because it is thought of as preferable to our default frame of mind (neutrality). But if happiness becomes the default frame of mind, then it loses its value. Furthermore, no one has the same concept of happiness, so to say you could throw everyone together and expect them all to be happy doing the same thing is impossible. And even if it was possible, eventually you would get sick of it and begin to hate it....you'd crave death but be unable to die, because you were already dead. So, no thank you.

And to those of you who say "God can MAKE it possible," I say, not without affecting our free will. And as someone who treasures free will above all else, I say double no thank you.

I think heaven is undeserved, but the more I know about people (especially certain posters here), the more I think that, if there is no hell, there ought to be one. Really hot, too.

Most Definitely, I'm a true believer that ur spirit goes on......poss to another plane [heaven] where you are then sent to another life. I don't believe this is our only existence, Heaven to help !!!
Hell to be forgotten !!! in Hell I believe you are alone and are no more.

SO IF I'M GOOD HOPEFULLY IL GO TO HEAVEN N COME BACK AGAIN SOME DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No. I am not scared by stopping to exist. I am more scared about existing forever.

Imagine it; trapped in life, forever and ever and ever. You'd get bored of it, then sick of it, then suicidal, then mad. Imagine a world where it is impossible to commit suicide. That would be hell for me.
