The field I will be in is nursing. Does that determine where I will go to A School? Does anyone have a general location of it, if so? Will my husband be able to live with me while in A-School or do I have to wait until my first assignment for him to move with me?

I know I won't be a "nurse" but that is what I will be going to college for also. I know about the whole enlisted thing...I was just wondering about the whole A school thing...

Nurses are Officers. Officers do not attend Boot Camp or A school.

If you are going to be an HM, then you are enlisted, and NOT going to be a nurse. You will not have the same duties as nurses do, until you gain rank and become an Independent Duty Corpsman.

HM A school is across the tracks from RTC atNTC. It was self paced, don't know if they discontinued that or not. regardless, your family will not be authorized to join you at Great Lakes. If you get a C school after A school, your family will not be authorized to join you there either. C schools are in various locations, Norfolk and San Diego mostly.

Unless you've gotten spoken to a Navy Recruiter already, taken the ASVAB and feature the agreement to be a HM be all set to not be one. You are a feminine, presently the Female part of HM is overmanned so they're enabling only some each and every yr or no longer enabling them in any respect. This entails each scientific and dental facets. Because you're feminine if for a few intent you do get HM you are going to no longer always be at the Marine part except in dental or a unique department wherein you'll be able to be stationed at a Hospital on a Marine base. Standardly simplest men are allowed to visit the FMF as you'll be able to be deployed with them. Women don't seem to be allowed in battle wherein Marines cross. I do recognise two women that do paintings at Marine bases one in a health facility the opposite in a dental sanatorium so you'll be able to be stationed there, you simply are not able to be stationed with a Marine Unit itself.
