Religions are the result of some quirk of the mind telling superstitious people that there's a way that they could continue to live even after apparent death .
Different groups came up with their own idea , which didn't agree with other groups .
No religion was dreamed up by "god" . Every one is right out of somebody's hallucination .

GOD didn't make all religions.... there is only 1 truth and that is that JESUS CHRIST is LORD. Satan working thru man is responsible for every other false religion. In Christianity its not about religion. Its about relationship with the GOD of the universe which is possible thru JESUS CHRIST. Christianity is the only GOD made religion. Also its the only religion where GOD loved the people of this world so much that he came to earth in the form of a man and died a horrible death on a cross for his people so that their sins could be forgiven and they could be reconciled back to GOD.
GOD BLESS YOU AND LEAD YOU INTO ALL TRUTH

Muslims believe that Ibrahim (Abraham), Musa (Moses), Eesa (Jesus) all preached the same religion which is submission to one God. Islam means submission. Muhammed was the last messenger/prophet who also preached this religion. So basically some followers of the true religion strayed and created their own religion(s).

Religions are man made not God made. God established one church in 33AD The Holy Roman Catholic Church, all the other 33,000 denominations are branches off the original

You would think that a "one, true God" would create a single, true religion, but noooo.

It seems like religion is a manifestation of man and not God, and as a result it is subject to all of man's whims and agendas about what's right and wrong and how they think people should live their lives, in their arrogance.

Because the Divine is Infinite (and is One, but is also the Many).

But human life is diverse and manifold. There are so many spiritual paths in the world because of the different historical circumstances, cultures, and needs of human beings.

Beware any moron saying that only one religion is true and the others are lies. Such a person is a provincial bigot--and such thinking is the foremost danger to human survival in an era of nuclear-armed theocracies.

God is actually 3 in 1; the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. God did not make so many religions, man did by the use of pagan idols.
