Doesn't that seem like a lot of carbs and starch?

It's a lot cheaper to serve all these carbs then to fill up your plate with proteins and fresh fruit. You can at home make about 30 pancakes, 3 lbs. of potatoes and 2 loaves of bread for $2, think how cheap they can make them for. Then think about how many grapes or oranges you get for $2. They are $2 a lb. where I live. Also, breakfast meats of any good quality are at least $4 a pack. They can fill up your plate spending the least amount of money possible. It's all busines baby, they don't give a d*&^ about your health.

I don't think they care. They just want to fill up the plate so they can charge more! But unless you're a carb watcher, then the average person won't think anything about it. One year carbs are good, the next year they're bad. I say as long as you eat in moderation you'll be okay. Though a lot of restaurants do have low carb options. They are usually a tiny portion of the menu.

That kind f heavy breakfast goes back to the days when most people did manual labor and needed the energy and calories. These days, unless you are a steelworker or something, a regular diet of that stuff will kill you!
