Sister has Power of Attorney OVER mother's care. Believe just told MOM to sign at the X on the papers. Mom suffers form dementia. Sister lives in Florida with MOM and we live in Illinois. Sister refuses to give us info on MOM and hangs up numerous times. We think sister is after MOM'S money since our Dad took very good care of MOM money wise. And sister really needs her money.

I think in order to act as your mother's advocate ...you need to just travel up there and knock on your sisters door and see your mum for yourself.....I guess your mum would not want you excluded from anything or to be treated that way ...good luck it is never nice seeing your mum with dementia.

I would call some kind of legal office and have them find out what's going on and call you back and let you know. My aunt's were doing something similiar to that with one of my elderly aunts but her daughter recently moved down to take care of her.

you could contest they power of attorney through a lawyer.

not sure how long that would take.
