How do you tell them about Jesus?

We should follow Jesus' example.

Consider the story of the rich man. When he asked Jesus what he must to to inherit eternal life, Jesus did NOT say, "Love one another, have faith in Me, and you will have peace, joy, and love."
Jesus went straight to the Law. He showed the man that he was diseased with sin. Jesus humbled his pride by showing that the Law condemned him. Christ allowed the Law to expose his failings, and his need for salvation.
Too many decisions for Christ end up backsliding, because the pretenses under which they accepted Christ were misguided. They expect happiness, love, joy, etc., only to be attacked by Satan and mocked by others. The end result is a backsliding Christian who never wants to go to church again.
Christ, however, used the Law to show people they are sinners and in need of salvation. Rather than allowing the seed to fall on hardened ground, the Law softens the dirt. Then, you can show how the person can receive forgiveness, justification, salvation, and inherit the kingdom of God through faith in Christ. Then you can share about persecution and also peace and love.
This is the way folks used to do it...look at Jonothan Edwards' famous sermon, "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God". Edwards in 1741 wanted to awaken the people from a spiritual slumber in the church he was visiting. The words are stark, to the point, and cuts to the chase. The result was an American revival, called the Great Awakening. I believe he clearly showed people their disease of sin, their condemnation sentence to the flames of Hell...as well as the savlvation through Christ's saving grace. We need more of this today, rather than the modern "Big teddy bear God" without knowing the reason we need Him.
That is how we ought to be sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

We can most effective supply the gospel. It isn't as much as us whether or not or no longer the hearer believes it. Salvation is totally inside the purview of the Holy Spirit. It is He that attracts the ones to Himself, no longer us. If your pal is go with of God, he'll be stored earlier than the top. If he isn't go with, he may not be. That is not as much as you or any human. During those final days God is saving a excellent multitude in every single place the arena. No doubt there are Hare Krishnas amongst them.

The word 'gospel' means good news. The good news is that Jesus was a wonderful man who cut thru all the BS of Levitic Law and told people to just love one another and treat each other as 'brothers and sisters'. In other words, you can eliminate all the minutia of the law by simpy treating others with the same respect and care you would want them to treat you with. That eliminates, racism, sexism, slavery, hatred, greed, envy, and many other vices with one simple rule. Thats it.

Just say Jesus lived and died for you...if you don't believe you will spend eternal life in hell. kidding..just ask the holy spirit to lead you. You know some ppl will not be receptive, so you have to try the spirit by the spirit...then you will know that its the right time, you can tell them simply that Jesus loves them and maybe tell them your story. Just don't overwhelm them, they will ask questions if they want to know anything else. The last thing somebody wants is for somebody to try to shove their beliefs down their throats. You will know in your heart that you are doing what you should do. Blessings!

The most simple way for me to present the Gospel to all who are hungering and thirsting for pardon and peace and joy in God is to teach them that the merits of Christ's sacrifice are sufficient to present to God in our behalf to obtain the gift that cannot be excelled, the gift that brings all other blessings in its train, the gift of the Holy Spirit, rich, full, and abundant.

This, I believe, is what the Scriptures teach.

Time is growing short and we should all know the message of Billy Graham about the Cross of Jesus. He taught one message and regardless of how Billy Graham spoke he always got around to the Cross. The Cross of Jesus is the central matter of the gospel.

Example:
Do you know Jesus as your Savior? He went to the Cross of Calvary for us. Before He went, we were dead in our sins because the wages of sin is death. Sin came into the world by one man, Adam. Because of Adam's sin we died to eternal life with God and we were disconnected. Because of Jesus' crucifixion and ascension, we were freely given eternal life with God and reconnection with Him if we believe in Jesus. It is that simple - "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved." God set the rules and laws of His creation and this is His ruling that without Jesus we have no hope of eternal life in heaven. John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that who so ever believes on Him shall not perish but have everlasting life."

Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life, and no one comes to the Father (God ) except by Me." Jesus said, " I and the Father are One." Jesus was God in flesh walking the earth to destroy the works of the devil and He was victorious over the devil. Only Jesus a sinless man could have done this for you and me.

We come to Christ, just as we are, loaded with sin and baggage, diseased and broken, but when the Holy Spirit comes in us, He starts cleaning us up. And whatever the Holy Spirit starts in us, He is more than able to finish. Trust the Lord. In America, we say, In God We Trust.

Start with basics like why God is not in the same class of things like Santa and why the bible can be considered a trustworthy source of information about god. This is important as if god doesn't exist and/or the bible is untrustworthy, then it really doesn't matter if Jesus existed or not.

You get a simpleton who is gullible enough to believe in Jesus and the gospels. That'll work.

Invite them to dinner or something. Play a game and while your doing it pray or something and they will ask what your doing and you will tell them all about praying and Jesus and God and the holy spirit and all that stuff.
