Do most people lose contact with their first cousins as they grow older?

I have a TON of first cousins due to my mother having 13 siblings, but since adulthood I have drifted apart from all but one of them, who is as close to me as a sister and an aunty to my children as far as I am concerned.

So unfortunetly I think the answer to this is yes, just as you lose touch with high school friends, it seems unless a BIG effort is made, first cousins and other family members end up being strangers too :(

I see my first cousins once a year, usually at Christmas. We've all grown up and lost touch, so when we see each other once a year it's like we're strangers to each other. We don't even know what's going on in each others lives anymore. People just drift apart over time.

yes . i just went to a wedding last week of a cousin i see maybe once or twice a year . When we grew up we where always together but as time went on we grew apart then i moved out of state . By the tim i came back home he was gone .

Not all do...My first cousins and I live in the same small town and we see each other on a daily basis or we talk on the phone.We are a very close family

I have but I see some of them once a year at a family reunion. I wish our families were closer but it just hasn't worked out that way.

I love my cousins, i have their kids, they have mine, we help each other out and take it in turns pickin them up from school.
My cousin was in my house till 4 am friday, i will do any thing for them and they do anything for me.
All they have to do is say.

YES,I ONLY SEE THEM ONCE OR TWCE A YEAR
