Can someone please tell me where I can get a copy of the software emulator for the PS3 so I can play my PS2 games. I know it's available, but I just can't seem to find a link to it. Any info would be much appreciated.

I have the new 40Gb model (13.10.07) with no hardware emulator. Will the software emulator work on this model.

The 40 GB model has *no* support for PS2 games.
The software emulation was taken out and there is no way to play PS2 games on the 40 GB model.
The software emulation is not available seperately.

Maybe you can take it back to the store and exchange it for a 20, 60 or 80 GB model.
The early 80 and 20 GB models are the only models with the PS2 hardware.
All new PS3s (with the exception of the 40GB model) only support Software emulation, that is already built in the firmware.

You can play ANY ps2 game on your PS3 unless modified it out...Just insert the game, press the 'X' or so button on your PS3 controller, and, it'll work just like a wireless PS2 controller!
