Yes they do, otherwise they'd be Christians.

Umm... I actually believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet because I believe in the Bible. And yes, I am a Christian. I believe that Christ is the Son of God, that He died for me, and that he atoned for my sins, so I can repent.

Bad question. Mormons believe Joseph Smith and the Bible.

Mormons: Why is it more rational to believe Peter over Paul?

Studying the doctrines of Christ taught by Joseph Smith does not, in my opinion, contradict anything at all as taught in the Bible. In fact, it actually clarifies doctrines as taught in the Bible.

Look at the Paul's epistle to the Hebrews in the Bible for example. Paul taught that Jesus Christ created the earth (see Hebrews 1:2), and that Jesus Christ and God are two separate beings (see Hebrews 1:13), and that there is a greater priesthood called the Melchizedek Priesthood (see Hebrews Chap 7), and that we were all created as spirit children in the pre-earthly realm by God who is our spiritual father (see Hebrews 12:9) and on and on.

These are all doctrines found in the Bible that no other Christian denomination or otherwise has as doctrine. Yet it is found right in the Bible.

Joseph Smith clarified those doctrines and they are tenets of the LDS (Mormon) Church. It would seem, that Joseph Smith taught the closest to the Bible than any other.

Excuse me, but I did NOT ask Joseph Smith in my prayers if the book he gave us was true or not. I asked God if it was true or not, and he told me the truth.
It is rational to believe that the Bible, wonderful though it is, it is not perfect. Over the centuries wicked people (like those priests who didn't want the people to read the Bible) have changed to their will and precious pieces have been lost.
Add the fact that we may interpret the Bible differently from others. Lots of people (Christians) disagree on what the Bible means in a certain passage. So I disregard all 'contradictions' between the Book of Mormon and the Bible. They are one in my hand and mind. (Ezekiel 37:16-19

Latter Day Saints don't believe Joseph Smith over the Bible

If you believe in Joseph Smith you don't stop believing the Bible. The Bible and the Book of Mormon go together. The Book of Mormon is ANOTHER Testament of Jesus Christ. It talks about his divinity.

No matter what you say, WE ARE CHRISTIANS! Anyone that believes in Christ is a Christian. Dude, look at the name of our church!

***NEWS FLASH!!!***
Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints aka "Mormons" or, more properly "LDS" DO believe in the scripture recorded in the Volume collection of books known as the "Bible". They just don't believe that those books are the only divine scripture ever recorded.
Joseph Smith is believed by LDS members to have been a prophet of God. Just a prophet.

We do not believe him over the Bible.

Joseph Smith is revered as he was the prophet of the restoration.

Take a look at these 13 points that are the keystones to our faith.

Response to coffee_pot12: Jesus didnt make the trip at that point. He visited the Americas after he ascended. Facts are kind of important when trying to put a case forward.

Guess what?

We ARE Christians!

I joined, in big part, because of how totally BIBLICAL the LDS church is. And I'm not the only one.

Why is it that you all seem to think that all we have to do is read the Bible and we will just automatically see the error of ouf ways????
