If you were given the chance to be worshiped in the flesh for the rest of your life would you accept?

Millions would bow down to you, they would make offerings of gold and blood to you. Would you accept? Would you become a living God if given the opportunity?

And what would you do? Would you be a fair and just Deity or a cruel and evil Deity?

Hell no, that's sick. Offerings of blood? What do you think I am, a blood thirsty vampire?

Even minus blood part, no. I would never want to be worshiped. I detest having "fans", I would absolutely loathe having worshipers. I'd much rather have people like/love me for who I am and see me as their friend...as their equal...not someone to be put up on a pedestal.

I'm not an atheist, but used to be one, and I still agree with them on a lot of things.

If the choice was mine exclusively, I'd decline.

If I knew the choice would go to someone else if I declined, I'd accept, but stay out of the limelight. I'd do little things behind-the-scenes to encourage people to get along better, but I'd never intervene too much. I'd be an invisible 'deity.'

The last thing I would want is to be worshipped, and if anyone started, I'd discourage them.

But I'd rather no one would be offered such a choice.

Uh, The Nolte already enjoys this level of admiration.

No.

Let me put it this way. Many human beings already have that problem. They're called "celebrities".

Although the money they make would be nice, you couldn't pay me enough to take on their fame too.

They have no privacy at all. Everything from their clothing to their family lives are under constant nonstop scrutiny. They are watched from the moment they get up to the moment they go to bed.

I don't know how they can take it. And frankly, some of them can't. Just look at Britney Spears latest escapades.

But at least celebrities are real instead of fiction. It gets insane when people worship fiction.

I am agnostic, but I am fairly sure most atheists would answer your question "no".

I surely wouldn't want blood offerings. Ewwwwwwwwwww!

May I ask you this ? Is this a rhetorical question in response to the constant accusations that atheists want to BE God ?

I don't think I'd want the blood, I mean I'm not a vampire bat.

I'd be overall ruler of the world, sure.

That's what Leviathan is all about. Read Thomas Hobbes.

What the hell reason do I have to want people to give me blood offerings? That is seriously whacked out.

And no, I would never want to be worshipped. I just want to live and let live.

I've played the game Black and White and ended up a fairly neutral (with evil leanings) deity. I wonder what you're leading to?

No!! I like doing for my own and being my own!

“GOD” is what you make of him, so even if I was worshiped I would only be “GOD” for the duration of the time I was worshiped! (but I would be so mean, people love pain! We are all so sadistic {and masochistic}!)

No, I don't think I'd like that, the gold would be cool but the sacrifice and worship would be totally unneeded.
