You are obviously a pushover. You need to make it clear that when you ask for something to be done, it needs to be done. If he ignores you, there needs to be an immediate consequence. Whatever that consequence is, be it a time out, spanking, etc. you have to follow through and do it consistently every time.

Clearly what is happening is you have trained your child to realize that if you tell him to do something, and he doesn't do it, nothing happens.

Imagine if there were no traffic cops, and no one ever got a speeding ticket. Do you think people would drive faster? Sure they would. There are no consequences.

At the age of 2 your child is going through his first rebellious phase. So far, he has won. He has had a battle of wills with you, and won. Now he doesn't even bother to listen to you because he doesn't have to.

Read some parenting books, and become more authoritative. You are a parent not a friend, and allowing him this level of disrespect at the age of two will only make things unbearable later in life.

kids are always different with moms and dads. that's why it's important to make a good team as parents. someone is always more the disciplinarian. that person usually gets more respect and better results. but you son will still count on you for things more than his dad....like for comfort and nurturing....things just as important as discipline. So hopefully you and dad make a good team. Just keep doing what you are doing and fall back on dad when you need to so your son knows you both want him to do the things you tell him.

Next time you tell him to do something and he won't, make like your crying. He'll get concerned then. Tell him he hurt mommy's feelings because he won't help mommy, and be making out like your crying while tell him this and he will do what you say then. Then from then on, all you'll have to say is, your going to make mommy cry, and he'll do what you say.

YEA,I NO THE FELLING. US WOMEN DONT HAVE FIRM ENOUGH VOICES,THE MAN SEEMS TO BE SCARIER TO A CHILD. I CAN EVEN BE LOUD WITH MY KIDS AND THEY STILL DONT LISTEN,BUT MY HUSBAND CAN BE LOUD AND THIER FACES LOOK SCARED AND THEY LISTEN TO HIM.

He's probably really intelligent and despises your lack of ability when it comes to spelling, punctuation and grammar. And your husband teaches him how to grab his crotch and fart really loud. Give up. You can't win.

And don't listen to butterf*cker. He's a 'tard, too.
