if they could the ones in hell would cry out. TRUST JESUS.
luke 16
24And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
25But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.
26And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.
27Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house:
28For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.
29Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.
30And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.
31And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

...I don't believe the dead can speak in audible voices.
...In Hebrews 11:4-5, we read:
...4[Prompted, actuated] by faith Abel brought God a better and more acceptable sacrifice than Cain, because of which it was testified of him that he was righteous [that he was upright and in right standing with God], and God bore witness by accepting and acknowledging his gifts. And though he died, yet [through the incident] he is still speaking. I believe this means we are still learning from his faith and are given a good example of faith that pleases God.
...I believe Satan is allowed to break the sound barrier, and God finished His word when the Bible was completed - in other words, no new revelation, especially via lying signs, wonders, and hysterical, uncontrolled outbursts. I believe this is Satanic activity, designed to lead people away from the true Gospel, which is all about Jesus:
1. Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures
2. He was buried
3. He was raised on the third according to the Scriptures.
...Now everyone everywhere is called to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved.

yes they do . My best friend was killed in an automobile accident , the day after her funeral , she called me on the phone o let me know she was fine , 10 months later I was going through heart surgery and she sat with me . My other girlfriend loved butterflies and , when she died , there were butterflies all around my house and in my home , after her funeral . My Dad died this past March and I hear him calling for me , the phone rings and no pones on the other line and I find pennies all over the house (he use to give me pennies and tell me it's for a rainy day ) Yes the dead to speak to us in different ways . Just open your heart and mind and listen !

My mother passed away suddenly in April. It was a Wed. night, the Fri. after I was in her spare bedroom on the bed sitting up talking to my friend about her. The door was pulled shut...suddenly there was a loud tap right in the middle of the door and it flew wide open. The room filled with cold air..I totally freaked out! A few weeks later my step dad was cleaning off her book case beside her bed, where she kept all of her magazines and papers...stuff she didn't want him throwing away. He wasn't allowed to mess with her stuff she made that very clear! When he finished throwing out everything from the bottom shelf the top shelf came crashing down on his head, he looked to see why the shelf had collapsed and there was one peg missing....the next morning his clothes were laid out for him..mom used to do that for him every day, surprised he picked up the shirt and the missing peg was right there under his shirt on top of his pants...I don't know if they can "talk" to us but after this I do believe they sure can make their presence known!!

I know of folks who claim to be able to speak to the dead. In my personal opinion, when a person dies they cease to exist. I hope I'm wrong and there is a better world waiting for people who try to live a good life. Unfortunately, there is no valid evidence to prove it.

They do all the time -- the place is called the library. All kinds of dead authors speak to you there.
Otherwise the Bible tells us that the dead are truly dead and incapable of any and all actions.

I believe yes but this is very personal and not for publicising. Doctors (unfortunately I am one) will say that person who claims this to be true may be psycho having hallucinations.

Listening with an open mind always helps. My mom came to me shortly after her death, I was going to church at the time and I freaked. My first thought was it's a demon, taken form of my Mom. My second thought?......How can a demon produce the love and joy I felt with this visitation? They cannot. That experience changed my beliefs and now I practice readings for those who have crossed. Thanks MOm!
