I admit that I am, even in Texas where its not the easiest place to live as an atheist. By the way, the word admit makes it seem like there is something wrong with being an atheist. :-)

Admit to it?
As an Atheist, I doubt I would ever ask his religion.
But I would guess he was not if he
Bowed on his hands and knees facing East.
If he said, "Hi de diddly hi neighbour".
or if he had a bald head, wore orange robes, and played finger cymbals.
lol

Yes they would, it seem to me they like saying to people, God doesnt exist.

Matthew 7:13-14

Heaven can be entered only through the narrow gate! The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide enough for all the multitudes who choose its easy way.

But the Gateway to Life is small, and the road is narrow, and only a few ever find it.

How do you multiply "Yes" by 3 billion?

I would hope so. It's certainly nothing to be ashamed of.

Unlike those who practice specific religions, atheism rarely define those who claim to be one. Christianity, on the other hand, often defines those who claim it.

Admit what? Do you mean my neighbor or me?
My neighbor? I only know what he says he is.
Me? I'm not.
