This seems to happen only when I meet people who are part of some Christian religion. (Catholic, Witnesses, general Christians, etc)

They state something from the bible, or say something like.. "Because thats the way the lord says ________"
I usually respectfully state that I do not believe in what they do and that I respect their beliefs, but that I'd appreciate that they don't preach to me.

You'd figure they would respect this, but 9 times out of 10 they don't. A religious argument ensues, and I wind up in the end with yet another person who dislikes me because of religious differences..

It's almost always the same, and after so many years of it happening, it's starting to get REALLY irksome.

Mind you, I never said not to believe what you believe, but that I've heard it all before, and that I've made my choice and am quite happy with it. This question isn't meant to upset anyone.

It's been questions why I let this bother me:

My in laws, family members.. etc. are religious, and sometimes I can't avoid the arguments.. It's tiring on me..

Why am I friendly with such people?
Because I may not believe what they believe, but I still like knowing good people. I know their hearts are in the right place, but it's just so frustrating.

I don't mind hearing that what they believe is a wonderful thing... As long as they understand that I disagree with it, but that I'm glad they find peace in it.. Does that make any sense?

Although it's true that some people are overly aggressive and don't know when tto stop, you'll have to excuse them for being concerned about your eternal soul even though you aren't.

They are only doing their job, just not very well.

I respect you and you can believe whatever you want. But why let it bother you so much? As Christians, we have our beliefs and you have yours. It sounds like you just want to be able to tell the Christian what you think and not hear what he/she thinks. It works both ways. This is why I try to avoid discussions about religion until I really know someone. Then we can have a really good, deep conversation where no feelings get hurt and at the end we just agree to disagree. And yes, I have friends who don't believe in God. Do I think that's right? No. But it's their right and their choice and I respect it. In the end, God is the final judge, not me or you.

What is ur compulsion to be friendly with such people. For sometime do not socialize with them and see how they react. Silence is more powerful than words. As u r not imposing ur belief or religion on them they must also respect ur individuality or just cut off with them for ever. Meet like minded people for ur own peace and happiness.

properly, for my section, The Beatles and Stones are madly puffed up. i'm no longer asserting i don't like them, in basic terms that they weren't the incredible bands ever. The Who had marvelous skills, they were by no skill extremely shoved down my throat yet they nonetheless are not the incredible element ever. united states continually seems to make your concepts up on the worst element and lead them to look marvelous, making various pre-youngster women and many human beings love them. it really is the stuff it really is been compelled down our throats for too lengthy. And by technique of how Lizzy, I believe Vicky. there is various skills lately, in basic terms no longer something it really is shown on MTV or performed on pop stations is amazingly proficient in any respect. EDIT- present day bands with skills: In Flames The Strokes Rage adversarial to the device device a suitable Circle All it really remains Apocalyptica Arch Enemy on the Gates between the Buried and Me Black Label Society Black Tide Cavalera Conspiracy Soulfly toddlers Of Bodom The Haunted Evile Warbringer The Dillinger get away Plan i extremely might want to easily save going with this.

Hello!
Your comments are interesting.
A little like football season.
Die hard football fanatics.
If one listens in to some of the conversations amongst these appreciators of football it leaves, as you put it, religious conversations for dead.
Life is filled with people who do not see situations the same .
Ok agree to disagree and move on.
You do not have to center life around these people.
Take care!

Hi. You should never have to be harassed by people who think it is their duty to save your soul. They should realise that it is you alone who makes the decision on how you live your life. You are not going to sit around waiting for someone to "save you". They think they have to come face to face with people to preach the word of God and to save them from eternal punishment. They say it is their duty to try to save souls. They can't even agree who God is !They should realise they are only causing resentment, but they can't even see that..How would they like it if Atheists were chasing them all the time to convince them that there is no God. I'm sure they would soon get fed up with it.They criticise Catholics for idol worship (which we don't) and make fun of God's Mother,Mary, and Jesus, which is very offencive.

I will openly share my beliefs with people but if they are not interested it is left there. I will also only do it if the topic is related. I wouldnt go "im off to subway, anyone fancy a meatball marinara? oh and by the way, Jesus love you"

People can be pushy and some do not know when to quit.

Don't group us all in the same basket though.

Choose not to argue. Take your sails out of their wind. It really is okay to smile, turn around, and leave their presence, as you would an annoying child. Of course, if you can do it with style and kindness, you will be such a class act.

I totally agree with you! We aren't supposed to "shove it down the throats", with words. Actions always speak louder than any words could. They may be saying one thing, but their lives show something totally different. But I look at the individual, not lumping them all together. I'd be fed up too, but I don't allow it to happen. I tell them "Sorry, but I disagree with you" and move on...
