I released my own 'celebrity' detox/diet/workout DVD in January, and called it the EAT LESS CRAP AND GET YOUR LARDY A**E TO THE GYM workout!
It would just be a minor 'd' list so called celeb, dressed up as a sergeant major just shouting things like:
'put that burger down lardy!!'
'Diet pills won't work, just stop stuffing your face with crap!!'
'Go for a run'
'get down the gym, EXCERCISE! EXCERCISE!!!!'
'Cook a meal! Stop relying on iceland microwave crap!'
Would people finally get a clue? Or am I just on a losing battle here?

Sorry I should explain I'm ex army and a student nurse (nearly graduated), so I have a long background and great interest in health and fitness, and I spend a great deal of my time re explaining these simple simple facts to people.

Big purple one. Yes. It is true. (sigh).
I excercise a lot, and eat very healthily, with the occassional pizza/ takeaway/ etc as a treat. (maybe twice, sometimes three times a month.)
People lose weight and pile it back on again because they are yo yo dieting. They stuff themselves with crap, go on one of these fad diets usually found in womens magazines, which put's their bodies in 'starvation mode', and the put it all back on again and more when they give up. It's not a healthy way to lose weight.
Yes, some people are supposed to be heavier than the rest, depending on height and somatotype (body shape), but there is still a healthy range of body fat for everyone.

Is that true though? I'm neither skinny nor morbidly obese, but I get plenty of exercise, I eat a good healthy varied diet, and I've been the same weight for about 10 years. I see people lose weight then pile it all back on again so that they end up back at their original pre-diet weight, and it makes me wonder if maybe some people are SUPPOSED to be heavier than the rest?

Perhaps you could arrange a marketing deal with McD, Burger King etc to give a copy of it away free with a Whopper Big Fat Mac or whatever they're called!

Thats a negative. You'll make more money selling magic fat cream. People don't want to work out, thats why the electric fat belt was so popular. Sell Japanese tapeworms, they will be a hit. That way you can sell them the worms and the cure, double your profit. They say you can feel the worms thrashing around inside you when they die.....Awesome!

Dear Mike,
When you calm down may I suggest you read Fat Wars by Ellen Ruppel Shell.
It'll very clearly explain to you the proven science regarding why your workout plan doesn't work for everyone.
I hope one day you fall in love with someone who has a weight problem, and witness first hand the pain caused by the type of ignorant comments you make.

Mostly loosing your battle.
See, you could be right, but people tend to listen more to someone that speaks softly, courteously, and with genuine care.
Most people get "their clues" when they are ready for them!
A lot know that they could be eating wrong (as happens with smoking), but they have a million reasons to keep on doing as they are.
Best thing to do is to let them be. Just say what you need to say in a courteous, brief manner, and let them make their decisions, when and how they see fit.

losing battle man! this is America, its everyones right to eat how they want, be declared disabled, have massive health problems, and lets not forget to mooch off the government and the rest of the working society. its their right to make us pay for them getting fat? right? thats what we are told, and thats what i see everyday at work. but i guess its not our right to do anything but pay for them to get fat and or fatter. ahhhh the glory of America! one of the glories they dnt tell everyone about. but i seriously love this place, wouldnt want to be anywhere else. it just seems that we have a few things wrong with this country. losing battle though.
