There are very few Jews in America because to be a Jew your mother has to be Jewish or you have to convert (which is a long and difficult process)

There are very few Muslims in America (The reasons should be obvious)

There are so few atheists in America because to be an atheist you have honestly not believe there is a God (in a Christian nation no less). Being not sure if there is or isn't a God either way is not enough (that's agnostic). Being anti-Christian is not enough. Being anti-religion is not enough.

There are so many Christians in America because to be a Christian all you have to do is say you are one. that's it. Period! (not to mention the descrimination against Jews, Muslims and atheists)

Wow. Did you think that up all by yourself?

I agree with you, becoming christian is easy. While becoming anything else takes a bit more effort and thought.

Just accept jesus and you will be allowed into heaven.

Use logic and reason and see that you just rot in the ground when you die.

I don't know, it seems becoming an atheist should be very easy as well. I guess there is a flaw to your argument.

Maybe there are so many christians in this country because there are so many people who cannot think straight, or were just brain washed into it from a young age.

Being a Christian is a lot more than just saying you are. You can say you are right now, but that does not make you one. Being a Christian, means you have to live a certain way, a way in which glorifies Christ, you must set a standard of living, so that others know clearly that you are a servant of Christ---and if you look at it that way, then there doesn't appear to be so many Christians anywhere. Talk is cheap.

I think that might well be one reason.

Also, the fact that we do have freedom of religion in this country makes faith a deeply personal rather than a national issue. If you disagree with the doctrine of one church, you can join (or found) a new one rather than just leave religion as a whole. That's how you end up with small towns with about half a dozen different churches all worshipping the same God with some minor variation.

This is the first time that I unfortunately agree with you in part. Most people in America do identify themselves as Christian. There are several million of us though that are true believers. true believers are discriminated against even more than jews, Muslims or atheist though so on that point you would be wrong.

There are many Christians in America because the Puritans moved from Europe, mainly England, and settled in America. Other religious people came later. Whilst I would agree that there are many who will say they are of a particular religion yet not strictly follow it I would not say that applies to all people.

It's because most of Europe shipped their religious nutters off to there in the 18th Century, except for the Dutch, they sent theirs to South Africa.

Sad thing is there is a lot of truth to what you say, some people are just afraid to not believe and that is sad on their part.

you are on to something.

though i think a lot of christians will say that you arent christian if you dont "fully believe that jesus died for your sins, and just saying you are a christian doesnt make you one."

but really, how many of those truly are christians, and how many just say it?

Okay, that's one way of looking at it. But could it also be that we're starting to realize we need God more than ever now than ever before.
