Like if you've been chatting to a girl for say 4 hours every single night for about three weeks and you've both seen pics and been on webcam and both planning to meet each other say next month, can you fall in love with someone even if you haven't met them face to face in person?

This is a really tricky one because sometimes it does happen, but I think that is pretty rare. The problem seems to me that you actually fall in love with the IDEA of who you think the person is, not with the real them. Phone calls, emails, photos and webcams are all good, but there is no substitute for good old fashioned feeling the chemistry. Its how people have genetically evolved to select a mate.

Unlike the popular belief here, I think you can fall in love with someone you've gotten to know that well online. You know each other from the inside out and have found that you have like minds. That's where love begins, in the mind. Hopefully what you see with your eyes when you meet in person will still be there. People who see each other everyday also fall in love and out of love for different reasons. I don't see how it can be that much of a difference in your case. Good luck.

I think that you can fall in love with the idea of that person you have created in your mind. There are so many factors that make up whether you ultimately love someone or not and I am sure that a couple of those require actually meeting the person. Once you meet them you may find their body language or voice really irritating or they may not look the same as the photos or the idea you had, you just don't know until your in the same place at the same time and the chemistry's either there or it isn't! x

I think you can see things in the other person you like. But..please get your feet on the ground! I have been online , in the past, and others hide A LOT being online---you are only seeing what they want you to hear and see--online is a great place to find a fake and fraud. Dont plunge into a relationship and commit your emotions when you have not met someone ...save that for a later date.

Without a doubt in my mind. Yes.

Love is not about physical attraction, it's about emotional compatibility.

It's the other person understanding and buying into your hopes, your dreams, your happiness and your fears. This person does this unconditionally and you do the same for them.

Your going to get a lot of crappy answers on this one. Ignore them all, and follow your heart.

yes you can fall in love with someone you've been chatting with or have'nt met with yet. I know people who married someone they met online whom they've seen only on their wedding day and their marriage is going stronger and stronger.
I can only wish you good luck and hope things work out for you like they worked for my friends.

Yes dear, it is possible.
The more you think about the person, the more you get to like them, and thats where "falling in love" begins.

The thing is not to attach yourself too much to them because they might not be the person you think they are.
It might happen for you to fall in love with the person you have never seen but when you get to see them all those feelings go away.
Its normal.
