I have not had a cigarette for 15 days?
I'm on Champix. This is the new drug on the market. It is not NRT. It works on the old brain to stop the withdrawral symptoms and also works as a blocker, ie if you smoke a fag you don't feel any of the usual effects.. Its some good stuff. I do have one problem with it though, I am having some very odd dreams and nightmares. Is/has anyone else used this drug? and do these dreams go away in time. It's very upsetting some nights...Like last night was really bad, I was a wreck first thing this morning. Still, better that (I guess) than a cig.

It's called Chantix in the US, same thing though. I will try changing the time I take it at night and see how that work.. thanks

Congratulations!!!

Thanks to the advice you gave me, I got Champix and have also stopped (last Tuesday).

I couldn't e-mail you, as promised without making my e-mail address accessible to everyone. Sorry about that!

I'm sorry to hear about the nightmares, I am having no side effects whatsoever - and I am not even thinking about smoking. These tablets are pure magic! As you know, I had tried every NRT product on the market - and could not stop.

I take mine at 9 am, and 9 pm.

Hopefully the nightmares will end soon - as you say - it's gotta be better than smoking.

Thanks again - I had never heard of Champix until you told me about them.

Good luck - and keep going - we'll make it this time! X

Champix is suppose to be the best thing in the public. You must have some good insurance in order to get it, or not. I have two friends on Champix, neither of which have had nightmares. I believe that you are are just experiencing a withdrawal...but stick with the non-smoking! Every time you falter, while you are on the drug, you will experience guilt. Hence, you dreams..are present. Keep taking Champix, don't smoke, your dreams will be more pleasant. My friends tell me that it works!

Congrats :) Thats really good!

In my opinion the best way to stop smoking is going cold turkey! As much as it is hard to! I think it works alot better in the long run!! - but if this is working for you then thats great :)

Hmm the dreams sound a bit odd..do you think its this drug related? or could it be that you are worried about something else or have recently witnessed something which has disturbed you? who knows.. If they don't go away in a while and are disrupting your sleep, maybe seeing if the doctor can perscribe you something for sleeping? good luck :)

I don't know about the drug but when i tried to quit, like, 6 years ago, i used the patch and that gave me horrifying nightmares. You just have to live with them as a side effect.

my ex-husband took Chantix (something like that ) & he said he had very "wild" dreams.
try taking the drug about 2 or 3 hours before bed time.

or call the doctor, he'll probably have some good advise

you have made a good fight against a bad habit in 15 days, just continue your momentum, never never never mind the effects, they are just in your mind! In return, in time, your bad breath will go away, your sense of taste will be better, thereby, putting your good appetite back and foremost, you will not allow the big C to subdue your lungs!
