I'm not uptight about the thumbs down thing. I couldn't care less. It's an observation. Just the responses that I'm getting is PROVING MY POINT. lol

You are right. However, people here often get frustrated because a lot of questions in this forum are counterfeit questions, which is when people attempt to send messages rather than receive messages with their question. (Such as this question of yours).

It's pretty easy to do isn't it? Just look at the way your question is written. As far as the thumbs down goes, it's there to mark so the person knows that not everyone agrees with your answer. Thumbs up is OK right? Then whats the problem with thumbs down? I get them a lot and I promise it doesn't hurt, it's only someones opinion.

It's has nothing to do with someone being right and wrong, It has everything to do with what the Bible says,
And Life experience
It seems has though you are telling some people not to Take GOD seriously.
Who cares if people are giving thumbs down, but people who are so worried about getting a thumb down, shows lack in what they believe. SO why worry if you think you are right. unless of course someone quotes the bible wrong, then they are just plain wrong, Plain and Simple

Hey, I'm not uptight. In fact I'm so laid back I could be perpendicular.
As a Latter Day Saint (often known as mormons) we have something called the Articles of Faith. These are basically pointers for "non-mormons" to better understand our principle beliefs.
Article number 11 is:
We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.

You know how the behavior in others that annoys us the most is also the same ugly behavior we often see in ourselves?!?
With all due respect and no offense (these are phrases you use right before you're about to insult somebody), your question is very "uptight" itself.....all the punctuation, capitalization, use of the slang adjective "freakin"......

Thumbs up, I like your answer. Thumbs down, I don't like it, or I disagree... But I don't do a thumb at all if I only somewhat agree or disagree lol... I am NOT uptight... You're lumping everyone together... as most do...

It is probably the way that you phrase your answers. I used the word "silly" and was wrote up for using that word. I have also forgot a couple times, when I wanted the person to know that I disagreed with them, and pushed the "thumbs down" making a bad thing for the person who commented. Most of the time, it is the way that you word the answer that gets you into trouble.

Yeah I know. R&S is a battlefield more than an Q&A place.
But the Christian fundies are also creating little groups here, that are reporting certain answers and questions, eventually causing the people they don't like to be erased from yahoo.
R&S is a hell.
But at least you can learn about the behaviour of different religions. So far Christianity tops, being the most intolerant, agressive and persecusive.

Yes, and the thumbs up or down is also expression of opinion. People have a right to have an opinion. People also have a right ot have an opinion about an opinion.
The only ones I can't stand are the people who trivially report others to limit their expression of opinion.

Probably 'cause everyone's expecting the majority to agree with their opinions or beliefs, which is never going to happen. You just have to accept that other people were not necessarily raised the same as you, and that everyone has a right to their opinion, be it right or wrong.
