The Art of Living Foundation, founded by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, claims to be one of the world's largest volunteer-based non-governmental organizations-They offer different courses - they are -
The Art of Living Foundation offers several courses based on Sri Sri Ravi Shankar's teachings and proprietary breathing and other techniques. The course fees are around $200-$400 as of 2006 (with discounts for students and senior citizens), but vary according to the specific course and the location it is offered at.
The participants are also required to sign non-disclosure agreements certifying that they will not reveal, or teach others the course content until they are trained by AOLF to do so, and accept responsibility for any benefits they may or may not derive from the course. The courses are conducted by teachers trained by AOLF.-
Sudarshan Kriya is a breathing process, based on ancient breathing techniques. It was designed by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar in 1982, and is a core offering of many of the personal-development, stress- and trauma-relief programs taught by the AOLF. Although the foundation claims that the technique has been patented, no patent records can be found in the US patents database as of Dec 2006. An indian newspaper has publicly described the technique in an article.-

If you divide your life in two parts: the outer part which deals with people, situations and things and the inner aspect (which includes your body, mind, breath) you will see that the inner aspect dictates each moment how happy you are. For example: if outside everything is perfect but inside you feel lousy you will be unhappy. If inside you are centered, the outside situation will not affect you.
The art of living gives you tools (sudarshan kryia, knowledge, etc) though which you strengten this inner aspect so it becomes independent of outside aspect.
There is a good description of the organization and the art of living course on this site: www.artoflivingohio.org or you can go to the main site: artofliving.org.
I've been practicing the Art of Living techniques daily for the past 5 years and they had a tremendous effect on my life. I would say take the course and get your own experience before you reach any conclusions. Good luck.

No Nobody tries and gets a Noble prize. Noble prize goes in search of the deserved one. Do not bring down the reputation of Noble prize organization. And , at the same time do not talk ill of great people like Sri Sri. Many of us don't have required qualification and authority to judge such people. Better to admire if there is something admirable is seen/heard.

In Art of Living Course they teach u to make 100% use of ur inner pwer thru regulating ur breath. There is Ujjai Breathing, Bastrika exercise, sudershan Kriya but the base is breathing. They teach u to regulate ur breath and appreciate urself as u r what u r and not as others describe u. When u appreciate urself then it gives u confidence in urself and u become happy. Learn basic course and if u feel good then move on to next stage. It will not harm u if u do not like it, just give up.
