Example 1:
In 1948 Jewish terrorists assassinated Count Folke Bernadotte of Sweden as he sought to bring peace to the Middle East. His three-car convoy had been stopped at a small improvised roadblock in Jewish-controlled West Jerusalem when two gunmen began shooting out the tires of the cars and a third gunman thrust a Schmeisser automatic pistol through the open back window of Bernadotte's Chrysler. The 54-year-old diplomat, sitting on the right in the back, was hit by six bullets and died instantly. A French officer sitting next to Bernadotte was killed accidentally.

Example 2:
On June 8, 1967, US Navy intelligence ship USS Liberty was suddenly and brutally attacked on the high seas in international waters by the air and naval forces of Israel. The Israeli forces attacked with full knowledge that this was an American ship and lied about it. Survivors have been forbidden for 40 years to tell their story

Funcused...:
I will take your comments seriously once you know the difference between a race and a religion.
Tabatha:
That’s now what the brave enough involved US generals and diplomats say.
jo p:
Britain the USA, and the United Nations all considered the Jews in Palestine terrorists until those "terrorists: achieved their objectives. Yesterdays terrorists are now called freedom fighters.
ivri_ano:
Read history... don’t listen to Fox News
Comment 1:
Why do people answer a different question than asked? Based on the nickname of the person that put the question forward?
If my nickname was Texan Cowboy, or RedWhiteBlue, the answers would have been more straight forward and less defensive.
Comment 2:
We can’t call Christians terrorists, if some terrorists that happen to be Christian commit acts of terrorism.
Same goes for Muslims.

Oh, no, this fellow (who calls himself a Muslim) has dragged up another myth!
About once a month some person, innocently or otherwise, drags this up again on Yahoo Answers. The facts are as follows, but my opinion is that the asker doesn't really care about the facts. Am I right?
During the Six Day War in 1967, the USS Liberty was sailing in Israeli territorial waters and was UNMARKED.
It refused to identify itself to the Israelis They considered that this ship might be a warship belonging to the armed forces of one to the countries at which it was at war. So, not knowing that this was an American ship, the Israelis attacked it. Right after the attack, the Liberty identified itself, but by then it was late. The Israelis offered all possible help in treating the injured, and they even compensated the families of those who were unfortunately killed and wounded.
This was a very sad story in the relations between the two allies, the United States and Israel.
But the attack was in error, the ship was not marked and refused to identify itself, and the Americans understood and accepted the Israeli apology and compensation.
To claim anything else is just to stir up animosity and to falsify the facts.
And that is a plot to cover up the dastardly terror being waged around the world by radical Islamic terror groups, like Al Qaeda, Hamas, Hisb'Allah, El Aqsa Brigades and Fatah. Their raison d'etre is to murder as many Israelis and Jews as possible .

There are some things worth remembering and some things not. An errant attack on an allied ship 40 years ago and an assassination of an impartial mediator 60 years ago certainly fall into the second category. What exactly is the implication here? That since Israel once attacked an American intelligence ship (and let's assume errantly even that it was intentional) Israel is out to get America? Is a scourge of the world? What exactly does it matter, is my point. Things are worth remembering if they have some significance in the present day, and if not the incident gets written up and filed. I do think that Israel has shown itself to be a staunch ally of the US and has also shown itself to not harbor any specific animosity to Sweden. If you ask me, a better example of short memmory would be Yassir Arafat. This is a man who personally participated in and planned terrorist attacks against both American and Israeli civilians, and yet 20 years later was considered a man of peace. History has shown that supposition to be foolish, yet the two examples you bring have yet to have any recent implications.

You know full well that the incident with the USS Liberty was a case of 'friendly fire' - something that Americans themselves have done on countless occasions, most recently by killing several British pilots.
The Israelis did NOT know that the ship was American: it was unmarked. The very second it became apparent that the ship was that of an ally, the Israelis rushed over with medical help and of course they were horrified. The Americans, however, knew it was an honest mistake.
That is the reason why no 'story' has emerged for 40 years - because there IS no story.

As an Arab, I am embarrassed by what this asker is trying to imply.
The Liberty attack was acknowledged by the American government as a mistake, after the ship was unmarked and could likely have been an enemy ship.
Regarding Count Bernadotte, he was a very controversial individual who was not at all impartial.

Lets see if we have this straight - 10,000 incidents by Arabs versus two incidents by Jews in which one incident wasn't against the US at all - the assassination of a Swedish diplomat by a group of Jewish terrorist as they killed themselves who kill Jews as well as others to get their radical views heard and a case with the attack on the U.S.S. Liberty of friendly fire. There are daily actions taken by Arabs against US and Western interests. You can be serious?
Good Luck!!!
