I've been through the same thing but I'll tell you something. My faith isn't in organized religion it's in whatever greater power there might be out there. That's what helped me get over my addictions and alcoholism. Religion is bull. Now it sounds like you've still got a lot of anger issues that need to be dealt with. My advice is to build a bridge and get over it. Stop living in the past and start focusing to the future. You can't drive down the highway by looking in the rearview mirror, keep your focus forward towards your goals. That's gonna get you through life, not bitchin about the past.

Why are you blaming this so-called god for the things that happened to you? Just because you realized that he wasn't there doesn't give you an excuse to get yourself messed up with drugs and the law. You did that to yourself. And your parents were nasty in their divorce by themselves. Stand up and take responsibility for your own actions instead of blaming others. Having said that, what does any of this have to do with religion? You can still worship god without having anything to do with religion. I agree that organized religion is a complete waste and if I did believe in god, I still wouldn't be a part of any organized religion. Fortunatly, I don't believe in god, so I don't have to worry about it.

Who's in charge of all the other people who made smarter choices than you? Did they take responsibility or did they just sit back and let go and let God? Muhammad gave some good advice when he said, "Trust in God, but tie your camel."
Religion, organized or not, had nothing to do with your situation, although the government obviously gave you residency for a while.
You've made mistakes. The question now is what are YOU going to do with your life from this point on?

First of all organized religion has nothing to do with God, it is all about religion. Secondly I am sure if you asked God he would gladly direct you to the spell check button prior to asking your question. Thirdly I am sure God would also be glad to help you formulate a question instead of disguising your declarative statement as a question. Any help you require from God would be premised on you willingness to accept it. God is not a magic wand to negate all the consequences of your freely made choices. Before you bash God and any type of worship how about taking a little responsibility for yourself and make some better choices in the future.

What did you expect God to do when your parents were so nasty to each other? They have free choice so whatever they decided to do, THEY decided to do. God isn't responsible for our actions - WE are responsible for what we do.
The Bible says, "God hates divorce" and it's too bad your parents were too self-centered to consider you. I don't know how old you were but, perhaps, not old enough to know that you could have gone to the nearest church to have a pastor help you in your time of need.
If you were told that God will help anyone in need of help - you were given incorrect information.
God helps those who, sincerely, seek to know Him through Christ - God knows your heart and when you are angry with Him, your heart, obviously, isn't ready to be God-accepting. If you walked into a room and a person snarled at you, more than likely, you would stay away from that person - wouldn't you?
So .. whose fault is it that you started on drugs?
You had free choice and you made the wrong one. It's not anyone's fault, but yours, that you've been in and out of jail. Blaming other people for your poor choices is easier for you than taking a close look at yourself and coming to terms with your shortcomings. If you, really, wanted to become anything more than what you are, you would ask for help from the proper quarters. Ask someone if you can have a visitor from Prison Fellowship and stop your, "it's all-about-me", whining. If you weren't so self-centered you might, actually, get to have a life!

If you think God will not help you, then why put your problem to this forum.
You are still asking God for help.
I would advise to knock off the swearing. it does you no credit.
Ask yourself...what did Jesus do when he began his ministry...?
He ORGANISED twelve men that he chose.
they in turn, ORGANISED OTHERS TO SPREAD THE WORD.
Organised religion that we see in the world today has not always done the right thing for people. But that does not mean that organisation is a bad thing.
Nothing is achieved without planning.

I am so sorry that happened to you, same here
and my life is still not great, but I manage to get
through the hurt of everyday disappointments
knowing that they are temporary and that my
problems are small in comparisome to being
beat until his flesh came off his body and what was
left was hung on a cross to die.But the Lord does
know your pain and I will pray for you right now.
