If you think that is so, then wouldn't that mean a person or group of people had to have "created" a god/goddess and then went about convincing people that they were real. What motives would they have to do this? Considering how many religions have existed in the history of humans, that is a lot of people making up a lot of religions. As many religions as there have been in the world, consider the odds that YOUR religion is actually the real one. Even more disturbing a thought may be that if that many people throughout history had the gall to fabricate a religion, isn't it very possible that every religion that has ever existed came about this way, including your own?

all religions are the products of active imaginations of homo sapiens, motivated primarily by the fear of not existing after death. That thought is so scary, people made up ways to convince themselves tha tthere is someplace they go where they still exist. Even the idea of hell is les scary, because it is something that means they will continue to exist.
sorry folks. it is all fabricated by US.

Religion plays a key role in mankind’s makeup and history. The New Encyclopædia Britannica speaks of religion “as a fact in human experience, culture, and history” and adds: “Evidences of religious attitudes and loyalties exist in every sector of human life.” But history shows that none of the world’s major religions have been a blessing for mankind.
Some claim to see good in all religions; hence, they feel no real need to seek out the true religion. Such individuals should heed the warning given by the prophet Isaiah, who wrote: “Woe to those who are saying that good is bad and bad is good, those who are putting darkness for light and light for darkness, those who are putting bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!” (Isaiah 5:20) False religion has produced what is bad for humanity. It has resulted in spiritual darkness and has left a bitter taste in the mouths of honesthearted people.
The choice, therefore, is not between being an atheist and believing in any religion. It is not as simple as that. Once someone has recognized the need for God, that one must seek out the true religion. As researcher Émile Poulat [male] nicely put it in Le Grand Atlas des Religions (The Large Atlas of Religions): “The things [religions] teach and demand are so greatly varied that it is impossible to believe them all.” In agreement with this, the French Encyclopædia Universalis (Universal Encyclopedia) says: “If the 21st century does return to religion, . . . man will have to decide whether the sacred things he is offered are true or false.”Is there such a religion? Yes, there is. But you must admit that it is not one of the major religions of the world. Should this surprise us? No. In his famous Sermon on the Mount, Jesus stated: “Go in through the narrow gate; because broad and spacious is the road leading off into destruction, and many are the ones going in through it; whereas narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are the ones finding it.”—Matthew 7:13, 14.

Religion and for that matter science are all mans way of explaining what they do not understand. Long ago when lightning hit the ground the people believed that the thunder god Yahweh was mad at them. Now we know that the static electricity built up so much in the atmosphere that it arch's. We, not too long ago, believed that the atom was the smallest thing in the universe then the electron and now the quark. In a nut shell we are as a bunch of ant's scurrying around who knows what is real?

Nowhere in the Bible does it say to belong to any religion. All religions are man made, which is the reason I do not belong to any religion. I am a born again Bible believing Christian, a follower of Jesus. I steer very clear of any organized religion. I only attend Bible studies with true born again Christians. This way I know I will never be deceived again. I was already deceived by the catholic religion. I am very thankful to the Lord for sending someone to witness the truth to me. I renounced the catholic cult never to be deceived again.

If you're talking about Religious Organizations, there's always a lot. The members always believed that theirs are the correct one. They die believing that they belong to the right religion, therefore for themselves that's the correct one. Religion being the right one or not, actually depends on every person. What you believe in maybe different from mine, but I think I am right, and you think you are right, better consider both of us right. In the end, we will die anyway. The most important thing is doing the right thing wherever you are.

All the religion are built on the false identity of the physical body as Self. They are the tool used in the past by the rulers to control the mind of the people to injecting the fear of god and its code of conducts to be,to behave,to live, and love and remain obedient and truthful and live in harmony. But in course of time it was misused by the invaders of other countries who tried to impose their school of thoughts.
Therefore religion is the only tool to condition the mind to be a Christians,Hindu,or Muslim. When the self in not the physical body but the spirit and the spirit belongs to no religion.
Thus it is necessary to investigate whether the self is physical or the spirit. In order to know the religion is built on the false base of physical identity.

God gave the truth in the beginning, but over time people fell away and kept with them some portions of the truth. That is why many religions have underlying similarities. Basically, there is only one religion with the full truth, but others have portions of the truth.

I do not believe so. I think all Religions started out as one Religion but then man warped it into different Religions to meet their own needs. Peace

Religions might claim to be doing the right thing, but if they get something wrong and do nothing about it, then they will be not accepted.
(Matthew 7:21-23) “Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will. 22 Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?’ 23 And yet then I will confess to them: I never knew YOU! Get away from me, YOU workers of lawlessness.
How many religions obey Matthew 28; 19,20
And preach the Kingdom?
