Even though the person who asked it, didn't mention religion nor does the question have anything to do with religion. It is almost as if they sometimes use religion as a base for their arguments against something.

If you don't have a religion or don't believe in God, then why use them as a sorce of your argument? Why say "those people did that because they suffured from some mental condition etc". Why not say "those people did that because he was raised christian, etc.

I can ask a question such as "Why is there good in the world?" on Y!A. In that question I didn't mention religion or God. Of course I would assume that a religious person would mention religion or God, but not from an atheist.

Despite this it happens. Often times one would say "I don't need a book to tell me what is good and so on". What is the purpose of them saying that in the first place? If they stated they are an atheist I would already come to that conclusion in the first place.

Even if the question is raised here on R&S. One would think that the atheist response would be void of any religious reference. If the question is specifically about religion then yes, but if not then no.

Hi Voren,
If I asked a question about religion then yes I would expect the response to contain some sort of religious reference. If I didn't, then I will wonder why they are bringing religion up.

Religions are real organisations of people and ideas whatever one believes oneself. It is much easier to say someone was "raised as a Christian, Jew, Moslem, etc" than to say that they "suffer from a mental condition". The latter is meaningless since it may not be the person who is raised in a particular religious tradition that suffers from the results of their belief system - look at those who believe that Islam teaches death.

Using religious labels to describe people does not indicate acceptance of the label.

Just a wild guess ...
If the question was raised in THIS forum then there would surely be a religious or spiritual content?
As far as my memory serves, and while I have been paying attention, there are very few questions appearing on THIS forum that have zero religious content.
Thus, I am not with you on this.

Many people are saved by Jesus and filled with the Holy Spirit and still obey Hebrews 10 v 25 by having church with fellow believers and are opposed to religion like Jesus was.

you address questions specifically to atheists and then tell them that they cannot answer as atheists would. since your questions are unanswerable as written, conflicts are inevitable. if you don't want people to try to justify their lack of belief in gods and you genuinely think that the question is unrelated to religion, i think you should not address questions to atheists - just ask the question. does this help?
