if your are pretty good friends, cash can seem as an easy out or impersonal....when my husband and i were married we got 90% cash as gifts and the people who bought us items- i got more excited opening theirs! A nice gift to a newly married couple is to buy them a nice photo album for all the great pics theyll have, or take them to dinner to celebrate them as a couple......Bed sheets are also nice for them to start with, nice dishes, or even a framed photo of the couple is a nice touch....good luck!!

If you're now not getting married till subsequent summer season, why do not you survive campus this yr? If your courting are not able to live on this transitority separation at "commuter" distance, you're now not in a position to be married. Even if you happen to have been a wealthy institution pupil, there is not any authorized motion to take. Life is full of offerings. Sometimes all of the offerings are unsatisfactory, however that does not imply that you'll be able to whine and sue a person. I wish you mature earlier than you assert "I do"!

You are so close to Brisbane, well almost. Why don't you take her something for her dining room or lounge from Indonesia. I think she would love that, as you are not in America. I don't know about America, but we go to a department store and choose things, then our freind go there and buy them for us. Darn silly when you come to think of it. You have such glorious fabrics there, and you could give her a lovely table cloth or some table mats, that are very Indonesian.

Ask her sneakily what she wants- without her actually knowing that she is telling you!
For example:
You: I've always wanted one of those pretty china sets!
Her: Really? I wouldn't mind that but I'd really love a new tea kettle. Actually, i saw a nice one the other day...

Or you could just guess and get her something sentinental. I'm sure she'll love anything coming from a friend.

Setup a trust fund for her. so if push comes to shove she will have something for emergencies or putting her first born through college.( Minimum opening balance, your already flying to be with her on her wedding day which should be enough of a gift for her).
