Pretty much any drink that has acesulfame in it will ALSO have either sucralose or aspartame in it as wellt
That being said, the answer to your question is technically no. This is because aspartame and acesulfame react differently in your body. However, acesulfame is still BAD, just different bad than aspartame.
Here's a basic run-down on what different artificial sweetners can do to you:
Aspartame (nutrasweet): Brain-damage, loss of memory, loss of cognitive ability, headaches, personality changes, mild to suicidal depression, hearing loss, blurred vision and blindness, brain tumors, seizures, numbness and tingling in extremities, nausea, chest pain, heart arrhythmia, increased appetite
Neotame: (neotame is a derivative of aspartame, without the phenenlalanine) Headaches, depression, ADHD, seizures, sugar-cravings.
Saccharine: Cancer, bladder problems
Sucralose (splenda): Kidney failure, Liver failure, Migranes
Acesulfame: Leukemia, Chronic Respiratory problems, Cancer, Aggravation of existing hypoglecemia
The only artificial sweetner they don't really have a lot of evidence to show is toxic in some way is something called Tagatose, which isn't really used in the USA.
Furthermore, when you drink something that tastes sweet but has no calories, like a diet soda, your body gets confused because it expects a sugar-hit. This can make you crave sugar & starches, which is why you see so many people haivng a diet soda and then a candy bar. When you don't get the sugar-hit, your body can "panic" and think it's starving, cause you to GAIN weight, rather than lose it. Also the ph balance in diet drinks hinders the absorbtion of vitamins and calcium.
The bottom line is: diet drinks and artificial sweetners ARE BAD FOR YOU.

RE:
Is ACESULFAME similar in toxicity to aspartame?
And how many 12 ounce diet sodas would one have to consume to achieve toxicity?
