A few weeks ago, I asked a question about Wagner's Meistersinger von Nuernburg's motives, got zero response. It was a good question, nobody had the answer to it.

(a) there are no stupid questions.
to answer your question though, it just means that you've posed a question or viewpoint that makes people uncomfortable or makes them think. Either way, your question was profound enough to create a reaction.
I'd rather have to think about the answer and the question rather than spout off a general "yes" or "no" response.

maybe no one had seen the question yet. can you imagine the total number of questions on here? i asked one for the "computer geeks" for my son in law about a wii game, and thought it would get all kinds of answers right away. after 3 days, still no answers.

Yes, if they are very challenging and thought provoking questions they may actually be answering to themselves but just not to you. Perhaps you cause people to seek answers to questions they never thought of or are just not comfortable enough to try to word for you in this forum. I just arrived here, I've never seen your questions.
