I was wondering how many of you feel that its perfectly fine to name a dog a human name, and how many are against it?

I like human names for dogs better than your normal names like Fido and Fluffy.. I like different names, I get sick of people calling their dogs the same thing all the time.. BORING!

My mother's dog is named with a human name.

No, Its normal. How will you name your dog if you don't know any names right?
I call my cat London and the others David.
So I think it's normal to use human names on dogs

It fits dogs as well as humans - some of our cats have "human" names and it fits their personalities to a T. After all, humans sometims have very weird names like (Apple, Hashtag, etc.) Our next cat's name is already picked out - her name will be Annie Oakley.

Not at all. Dogs can totally have human names.

All of my German Shepherds have had a human name.
Sasha, Amber, Natika, Sam, Dagmar, Penny, and Brandy....
However I have a Mutt that I called Pepsi (like the cola) because his coat color looks alot like the pepsi cola color. So it suited him. So you can always go that route. Give the dog a name that suits the dog for its personality or its look or whatever.
I also knew a man that called his dog Dee-oo-gee.

I used to know a guy who had this funny little shaggy black dog called Adam! Weird dog name, but strangely enough, it really suited him!
Unfortunately, being a Jess, every second dog I meet has the same name as me!

Four of my five dogs have human names. The other one was named Scrappy by my son.
