Yes, you can tell him that you are not ready for a serious relationship with him or anybody and you want to concentrate in your school and career. Please be nice and polite. It is going to be hard for him to accept it but, you have to tell him through his face I urge you to be polite, and let him know that you are appreciate his affection for you. Unfortunately, you are not ready to settler down and you need your freedom and space. I am sure he will feel okay and leave you alone. I am so glad you do not want to be mean. Good luck and you only give me less than 2 sentences to analyze so I have not much to go on.

Honesty is the best way. Just tell him the truth. Simple and quick. Do not elaborate the plain simple truth, It is mean by not being honest with him. He is just not doing it for you. You are just not into him. Simple, sweet and short.
