gurlygirl: Jesus DID have an eternal existence before becoming Jesus Christ [the mediator between God, the Father, and humans]. When Jesus was praying to His Father in the garden, prior to being arrested, tortured and crucified, He said in His prayer, " Glorify Yourself with the glory that I had BEFORE the world began". (See: John, chapter 17, verses 5 & 24). Yes; Jesus has and will always have a "future life" (that's why He will be returning back to this earth in the future to both, save it and to re-shape it - read it in the Book of Revelation and throughout the Bible, in both, the Old & New Testaments).

Jesus was God incarnate and the physical aspect of Jesus came to earth as relayed in the accounts of Jesus in the Bible N.T. There is no account, and no reason to believe that Jesus had a previous life. Jesus arose to Heaven and has been there ever since. He isn't just sitting around doing nothing. Jesus is eternal, the Son of God. God has a lot going on.

He was the eternal, self-existent One before becoming a man. While He continues to have His human nature He was immediately exalted to His present status by God (the Father) after His return to heaven.

Jesus was and is eternally God. Never less than what he is now. The Bible is Clear on this. Jesus himself claimed this. Just one small example for you:
Jesus said to them, “I tell you the solemn truth, before Abraham came into existence, I am!” (NET, Jn 8.58)

The following is a translation note from Daniel Wallace who is one of the foremost textual scholars in the world today regarding the "I am" phrase:
"I am! is an explicit claim to deity. Although each occurrence of the phrase “I am” in the Fourth Gospel needs to be examined individually in context to see if an association with Exod 3:14 is present, it seems clear that this is the case here (as the response of the Jewish authorities in the following verse shows)."

Jesus himself said to the Jews of his day that he had "been" their "Lord" at one time. Who was their Lord ? Yahveh. Even he said they use his name but their hearts are far from him.

There is but a secret which will be out soon for it is this God, that has existed with mankind since the beginnings of literacy. The Hebrews got it's name from the Persians after the Babylonian captivity and injected his name into their HOLY WORDS at that time, but this discovery by the Persians is of a God by the name YAHWEH and the discovery was made in the 6th century b.c. in the Nile Valley predating the Egyptian civilization by about a thousand years or in the gerzean era. (4000 to 7000 b.c.)

yes, jesus had lives before the one which he is famous for.

and some feel that he incarnated after that as well.

basically he progresed to a state after many lives to that point. we can all be as Jesus was. eventually, anyway.

Jesus is a role model. an example of what we can become and how we can be one with God. like he was.

the concept of "god manifest in flesh" is idolotry.

Jesus was just a man. we are all as man, and as god, as jesus was. Jesus was just like all of us.

ironically... if he was not... he could not qualify to be the messiah of Judaism.

the very nature that christians attribute to him, proves him to not be the Messiah.

...The existence of Yeshua (you maximum likely comprehend Him as Jesus) become the incredible adventure in historic previous... He by no skill owned a house or had worldly "issues"... Of each and every of the military's which have ever marched, each and every of the military's which have ever sailed, each and every of the kings which have ever ruled, each and every of the governments which have ever been; none have replaced and shaped the international as this One guy has... we even set out calender by technique of His existence... His words were challenged for millenniums by technique of all and multiple who become attempting to disprove what He spoke and taught... He fulfilled more suitable prophetic Scripture in "faster or later" that "if" you opt for to statistically "attempt" to examine the "odds" of that...it would want to be about 10 trillion to at least a million... he's both precisely who He says he's or he's the incredible liar contained in the historic previous of the international... (this "a million" guy, with in basic terms His words)...

I think He was the Word before He became born as Jesus Christ, and He does have a future and eternal life as the King of kings and Lord of lords. Alpha and Omega is He.
God bless you.
