All on it's own the gap gets wider every day. I call the anti-evolutionists the 'New Amish.' Eventually their world view will be so divergent from reality that they will not be able to function in modern society. Education and the friction between known facts and their cognitive dissonance fantasies will eventually cause them to self-ostracize themselves or to be cast out of positive progressive culture.
It's in full swing already. They are ridiculed in the media, some avoid helpful science such as medical care, books like Richard Dawkins' "The God Delusion" are becoming wildly popular, churches and families are torn apart and disbanded due to the 'gaps'' effects. A house divided against itself cannot stand. Mat 12:25, Mark 3:25, Luke 11:17
He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind: and the fool shall be servant to the wise of heart.Proverbs 11:29
So, if you want to widen the gap get a good education and pass it along and continue to ask questions like this and make sure that they get public attention. But, I really don't think you have to do anything to widen the gap, just hang on and watch the show, it's sure to be a doozy.
May I suggest a question to you that may help:
Since Fundamentalist Creationists make the rest of Christianity look so bad do you think that they are really Satanists in disguise doing their best to destroy Christianity ?

i'm no longer Catholic, yet I could remark. Catholics *are* Christains. till the Protestant Reformation interior the 1500s, they have been the only Christians different than the eastern Orthodox church. They stored Christianity alive, and in spite of the actuality that Protestants broke faraway from them and there are intense ameliorations of doctrine, this is way incorrect to think of that the two do no longer share quite plenty. I mean, Catholicism is what preserved, certainly collated, the Bible! Now i be attentive to they stored around a much better sort of books than the Protestants renowned, yet nevertheless. besides, can we no longer undergo in innovations that it became into the Catholic church that prosecuted Galileo? in spite of what "maximum Catholics have faith," the Catholic church expert doctrine shares a extensive quantity with non-Catholic Christian doctrine. And traditionally, they share much greater. So i assume... confident, i in my opinion do think of there could be an common union.

A couple of things, first you seem a little angry, how is that working out for you? :-)
Secondly, and to our shame, you need do nothing to divide Christians from each other. We will do it for ourselves. We have been doing it from the beginning.
The problem is, and Jesus said it himself is that there are tares (weeds (people who look like real Christians but are not)) growing among the wheat. They naturally cause problems.
The other analogy Jesus used was a wolf in sheep's clothing. There are many phonies in the Church who spend all their time doing what you long for.
It is to bad you spend so much energy wishing hurt on others. I hope you find peace and happiness in whatever it is that you believe. :-)

Now, that's not very Christian, calling people "morons" because of what they believe. I realize that it's nonsense and those types are very judgmental, but it's still not nice. And, trust me, there's a HUGE gap between many of us Christian Evolutionists and Creationists. HUGE!

Desiree: Consider this. Evolution is currently being scrutinized by Scientists and being found a non-plausible theory (hypothesis). Check it out at: Center for Science & Culture ... www.dissentfromdarwin.org It is amazing that people Christian & non-believers alike are so-ooo out of touch with the current information behind the Evolution theory.
There are quite a few "educated idiots" out there, who haven't a clue as to what the Evolution hypothesis is really about and hide behind it, like he or she knows what they are talking about - all pretense !!!
Now; that reality is achieved, your question, as presented, can be better addressed for accuracy.

May I ask a question? If you really believe that we who believe the entire Bible are mad, why do you make fun of us? It seems unkind to poke fun of someone who is truly clinically insane. Do you apply the same reasoning to paranoid schizophrenics and tell them that you hope that they are exposed for their insanity and tell them they are morons? I mean you no offense, and I honestly do not mind if you think I'm a moron or that I'm insane. But if you truly, in your heart, believe that I and others like me are insane, shouldn't you pity rather than out and out mock and insult?
Edit to add: You care about your species so you mock those who you believe are mentally deficient or ill? How does that help the species? In my opinion unkindness does nothing but *harm* the species no matter which way you slice it (and yes, I acknowledge fully that kindness and niceness are not always correlative).

Point towards an interracial gay couple and the morons will go insane and run towards them with their bibles. The others won't care....there the gap is widened.

I'm sorry, luv, but I'm afraid it's not going to happen. Christians who believe in Gish's "scientific creationism" are still my brothers and sisters in Christ. I will try to educate them as best I can as to why what he says is nonsense, but at the end of the day we are still one in the Spirit. Any "gap" you see is, I assure you, largely illusory.
