You'd think you'd grow out of these things, but there's no shortage of mindblowing women out there. What makes them so special?

And if you hang out with someone you're crazy about but you are sure she isn't in to you, is that just masochistic? Or is it some sort of higher-level healing that makes you a bigger person?

Need some fun and some serious thoughts and advice here, thanks all.

sometimes crushes tend to crush you, i have a "crush" on every hot chick with a great smile in all my classes but we have nothing in common i'd rather just leave her as something to adore, i know, its a pansy move. im more into girls who like me back... so thats pretty straightforward there

Just a little something to ponder. I'm not a bigger person. Not by a long shot.

We've all had crushes and plenty of them. There's just something about someone else that attracts you and you don't know why. And a lot of the time it's even because they're drop-dead gorgeous, it's because of something else that not everyone sees.

There was a boy I knew in high-school. I had a crush on him but so did just about every girl in school. And as it turns out he also had crushes on just about every girl in school (we remained friends throughout all these years) including me, which I laughed at when he told me only 5 years ago. I lost my crush on him after the first couple of months into my Grade 12 year but still kept him as a friend. We've seen each other through a lot of heart-aches, musical frustrations and never once pulled any hint of romantic longing. Here it is over 30 years later. Our friendship is stronger and more loyal than any relationship I've been in or been witness to.

Is it really wasting time? Even if no friendship evolves from it, it's still not a waste of time. You can always find something positive about any crush.

HAHAH! Yes! the guy above me is my hero <3 Anyways, relationships are the most pathetic endeavor known to man and they waste so much valuable time it makes me sick. "Marriage is the only adventure open to the cowardly" -Voltaire. It is very disgusting if you do sit and think about how dependent we are on the emotional and physical support of a partner. Imagine how far evolved we would be if humans just happened to turn out asexual back when we were diverging from reptiles...JUST THINK! We would undoubtably be on other planets by know...*sigh* oh well. Nobody is perfect right? Anyways, dont spend too much time worrying about relationships people, there's an amazing world out there and also a lot of unfortunate people who could use your help while your sitting around worrying about whether your **** is big enough.

oh man I know exactly how ya feel... I had a crush on this one guy and liked him so much and built up all these fantasies about him and then we went out and it was just like someone popping a bubble - he was downright dumb and annoying and I couldn't wait for the date to be over ten minutes after it began...

I really like Margaret Cho's take on it... listen to her "Drunk with Power" album sometime - there's a really hilarious bit on there about a hot guy that turned out to be really stupid... but I won't give the details away on that one.

To keep this concise... I've been living life for the past year without any crush and it's kinda dull and boring. I need to have a crush on someone to keep things interesting. I'm married, but that doesn't mean I can't crush... I just look farther afield so I don't get myself into trouble, teehee. I got tired of crushing on hubby. He doesn't return the favor. :( *pouting* So anywho, it's normal human behavior. Why not crush on someone? It makes the mundane world more fun! :)

In Biological terms, we are all made of the basic elements call gene. Look at the animal kingdom, sex is the most serious business of the day come just after eating.

IMO, when our genes identified another genes that would merge well, the body would react by injecting tonnes of chemical so that we feel the feeling called "crush". Think about it, if the "crushin" feeling last long enough, we'll eventually have sex... hence merging genes....

a lot of relationships start out as someone having a "crush" on the other person. It just means you like them.. you're attracted. If you truly find someone that you feel is special and you want to be with them, thats what keeps you from going on to different women.

hey, having a crush is normal but sooner or later it will just fade especially if you go around and meet other people. your taste of a particular personality or character changes and varies as you grow older. and it also depends on the season...just take your time ...

Some people say it is a subconscious things. There body lets off a chemical that your brain is attracted to. It is the only logical explanation I can think of. Which also explains why people are attracted to different people.
