I am very interested to know, as one of the other people who answered your question asked you: “What did God look like?"
It seems to me from the dream that you describe that you are conflicted in your choice of life styles.
There is the man that strongly attracts you, and with whom you are involved. You do not seem to be unhappy about the fact that this man is standing before you with his arms wide open. It is a thing that you desire and wish him to do. This is a welcoming gesture of acceptance. This is an offer of love.
Then on the other side there is God, whatever God looked like in the dream. There is service to your God. There is what seems to me to be your feeling and thought that you should be coming to God, and or going with God.
Within your dream it seems to be the man and a life with him, or God and a life with Him, one or the other.
You seem to feel and think that if you go with God, and or follow God, you cannot be with this man. It is obvious within the framework of the dream that you outlined that this man is fervently against your putting God before him, and your choosing God over him. Why to you feel and think this? Is this man against expressions of faith, and against living a life of faith? Or is that you have gotten so into your worship, practice, and living your faith that you have left out living an actual life? It doesn’t have or be a fun, or no fun kind of choice. Pastors, imams, rabbis, and men and women of God do have fun and lives too.
If you are a believing woman, you are facing a problematic situation women of faith face whenever the woman is dealing with a man who is not a believer. The things that a non believing man may wish to do with you, and wish do to you, may be against the foundation beliefs of your faith. If this is the case, perhaps you should look for a man within your church, masjid, and or temple.
If you are a believing woman, you may also be fighting with your own desires for secular freedoms, and sexual gratifications. If you have had a sex life within your life before you gave your life to God, it can be beyond difficult to do a sex life the way that God says to do it: There is no lawful sex outside of marriage.

This is what your dream means. God is basically showing you that you have to choose between him and your boyfriend. The Lord is showing you that your boyfriend is in opposition to you coming to know the Lord. That's why he said no in the dream.

If I had this dream, I'd probably open my eyes and be more alert to my boyfriend's actions, his moods, etc. This dream would give me the idea that I shouldn't be with him; that there is something about him that would not be to my approval; I'd take it as a warning.
