It is said that the military is a "ugly woman's paradise". Do you agree with this sentiment?

I recall hearing this being said before, but recently a former Marine girl also told me this (she was actually very attractive). And anyone here that served in the military knows that it's filled with overweight ugly masculine chicks. I think the essence of the quote "the military is an ugly woman's paradise" falls on the fact that because you possess a vagina, men will be all over you. Ugly women in the military were treated almost as good as beautiful women in the civilian world. Especially in the navy, when you're out at sea and men make up 85% of the ship (in my case). Women that are only average looking will actually start looking "hot" because you've only got ugly girls to compare them with. Ugly girls will look average/decent. Also, females were generally lazy and were excused from doing work by their superiors, and the males usually had to take up their slack (working parties, standing watches, etc.).

Military chicks stationed on a sea vessel would often get knocked-up and get pregnant, so they can get re-stationed to "shore duty" on base -- a much easier desk job, compared to being underway and out to sea for weeks/months at a time. In the meantime, some poor male who has worked hard on ships for a few years and is trying to get shore duty, can't get it because some overweight, unattractive female decided to get knocked-up so she can take his sea-billet.

What do you think about the statement that the "military is a ugly woman's paradise"? Agree or disagree? Why?

I did 4 years in the U.S. Navy right after high school, and got out a couple years ago. I'm in my 20's and have been attending college ever since.

And all of these girls had big egos, thinking they were Beyonce or Jessica Alba. They had never received so much attention until they joined the military.

I'm just going to list women I recall seeing in the military:

I recall this one girl that had a goatee. Dead serious. It's as if she didn't know she had facial hair. She walked around like nothing happened. We would make jokes about her needing a "shave chit".

There was another girl that had the crookedest teeth I had ever seen. Scary. Jagged and yellow.

I recall one girl that had the most unorthodox-shaped, lopsided body. She walked around like she had full-body arthritis. She was mildly retarded, had uncombed hair, and thick glasses (we called them birth-control glasses). I never made fun of her, that's not who I am. But I'm just calling a spade a spade right now.

Another very masculine female I can think of used to chew and spit tobacco. Gross. Never saw a woman do that until I joined the military.

LMAO Oh my God. So true and so freakin funny. I'm a Navy Brat, my dad was in for 20 years. There are a lot of cute Navy chicks too, but yeah they all slack. You're right. You would too though, if you could. Ya can't blame em. You cracked me up with those descriptions. Thanks for that. lol

I'm a female in the Army, and I happen to be in a job with a very LOW percentage of females. You do get the occasional butches/big girls but then they get weeded out. The battalion I'm in they get the boot if the exceed the weight or body fat standards. So it's gotten ALOT better. Also it doesn't matter what you look like in the military in regards to treatment. It depends on the rank, discipline, and the work you put out. I don't get any special treatments.

I sort of agree with you. I have been in the Air force for five and a half years. I'll be getting out in April, I feel the military has turned me into a ugly women with their stressful demands. Basic Training ruined my long beautiful hair due to stress. I caught a rash from the chem suits, that has left blemishes all over my legs. Yep if you ain't ugly when you go in, you will be when you come out.

I agree, take the crooked tooth girl unfortunately not a looker. I disagree that crooked toothed girl goes to the dentist, which I believe the military provides, correct me when I am wrong, gets her teeth done so that now she has pearly whites, perhaps loses a few pounds, does a good hairstyle, now beauticians and barbers have they, and that is the end of my answer.

Based on a few, you judge all.

Having been in 2 branches, let me say, The most beautiful I ever saw was a Marine. She was absolutely stunning. And she was very good at her job. Their are beautiful women in the Army, and Air Force also. The Marine counts for the Navy.

But more important, these ladies were hard working professionals. Deserving of the respect you would give to any Outstanding SEAL, Green Beret, Para Rescue, or Force Recon member.

They are Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, and Airman first. They just also happen to be pretty. Their competence makes them more attractive.

Well I am in the air force, and i have heard men in other branches say that the air force has the hottest women. I dont know why, but i have to say i agree... Most of my female friends in the AF are attractive, and i dont think that i am ugly. But you are right, there are a lot of ugly women in the military. I am deployed right now i Afghanistan, and whenever like army men see me they come over and talk to me, and one of them has even told me that they love when us air force girls deploy so they have someone nice looking to talk to. Im not saying that the other branches have ugly women, its just what i have been told that AF has the better looking females.

You got that right ... when I was in the Army in the early 90s at Ft. Bragg in NC, the saying was, "Fort Bragg - Where FAT Women Have A Choice!"

OMG it was sooooo true, because for every halfway decently average looking chick running around, there were, like, at least eight or more guys trying to get in her pants, so to speak. Unless you were a real smooth talker or super-handsome, the only way to get a date at all was to lower your standards to sub-human levels.
