I saw an ad at a supermarket that said that they'd give a $500 reward if you found their dog. Is there anyone that would actually take that money? I'd just be happy to find someone's dog for them....

The only way i would take any money is if i had to take their animal to a vets office (if it had been hit by a car or was really sick). Not to say i wouldn't take an animal that needed it using my own funds, but if the owner wants to thank me they can pay the vet bill. Otherwise, no i wouldn't take money just for finding a dog. Unfortunately, i think that offering a money reward would motivate more non-animal people to keep an eye out for the lost animal, so i would probably offer one if my dog ever escaped :)

Generally no.. but, if they insisted I'd donate it to the best no kill shelter in the area.. (the one that doesn't keep the dogs in tiny cages .. and they get out and work with them every day)

I've had my dog run off before.. (the joys of owning a beagle mix), and couldn't have afforded a reward like that if I wanted to.. So, I know what it's like.. and would rather know that I helped a lost dog get home than care one bit about the money.

2 yr ago someone stole one of our chihuahuas. We knew who did it but couldn't prove it. They were here at our house when the dog vanished. We had an
$800 reward for the return of the dog but never found him. I figured we would get a lot of false leads because of the large reward but we only got a couple of calls and neither of them pammed out.

ton of people would take the money, i wouldnt, but offering a reward is also a sign that the owners really love the animal and want it back.. i think its just incentive for people to keep there eyes out of the animal

I can see tons of people taking the money....Have you ever watched those shows on animal planet, there are way too many people who hate animals and are just greedy..puppy mills are an example of that.

It's sad really.
