This probably wont answer your question but I just wanted to add something about the Pro V that I learned in my advertisement class. There is no such thing as "ProV." They just add it to make it sound like something good for your hair when it's just a made up word. You would be suprised on all the stuff that we buy that we think is good for us but the advertisement makes us believe in the product. Just thought I would through that out at you. Oh and I don't think they would put anything on the market that was harmful to someone. The product is probably as good as any $99 brand shampoo from what I'm learing.

It's a myth indeed! Pantene has been in business for a long time, and many of the best hair products use one kind of alcohol or another in most of their products. Read the ingredients on the label. You will find many kinds of alcohol there. They perform an important function -many kind of functions, in fact. Studying chemistry would help you understand that.
Now, in my experience as a hairdresser, Nexus is a better product for your hair. Try it and you will be pleased with the results as soon as the end of one bottle of shampoo. But finish your bottle of Pantene, unless you are wealthy!

Personally, I find that Pantene shampoos dun do it for me. The hair may feel and smell great right after the wash but when it dries off, it just gets worse than before. And repeated washings makes my hair fall out more.
I stick with Vidal Sassoon, btw. =)

i have a really trustworthy hairdresser and when i told her i used pantene pro-v she suggested i use ANYTHING but (she didn't suggest i use one of the salon's formulas-she told me to use anything but- so it wasn't like she was trying to sell me something else).
i switched to another drugstore brand recently and ever since my hair has been lighter, softer, and best of all, easier to straighten!

I have had a professional hairdresser tell me that it IS bad for your hair, in that it dries it out (which causes breakage).
