The Watchtower claims that one cannot understad the Bible without the Watchtower literature.

What kind of God would give His people a Bible with no means to understand it?

Ishvarla..: They claim to be the only study guide we should look into though. There is a difference!

And yet, they have made numerous big blunders to to he point that people are dying following the doctrines!

Simple they just read the Bible and took God at His Word.

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Tim. 3:16-17

The entirety of Your word is truth,
And every one of Your righteous judgments endures forever. Ps. 119:160

God can't lie. Titus 1:2

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, HE WILL TEACH YOU ALL THINGS, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. John 14:26

Watchtower literature is not an aid...It's an Addition!

You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you. Deut. 4:2

According to the Watchtower society they couldn't and still can't. Ishavarian, are you so blind that you cannot see that what JW's study is not the Bible but the study aids themselves; and please don't pretend that there is only one study aid, there are hundreds. It may surprise you to learn that so heavy is the burden of studying study aids, many JW's do not even bother to look up scriptural references. The amount of time taken to prepare these aids ready for meetings is such that little time is left for the Bible, even the daily scripture is printed in a little book with an interpretation given by the society so that there is no need to get out your Bible. I have attended the weekly book study and the Watchtower study long enough to know that very few people give answers from scripture, but rather read parrot fashion from the article.

Good question! The bible is a long complicated book, most people aren't capable of understanding it because it is written in parables and to understand some of it you would have to be a history scholar. People have spent centuries trying to unravel its mysteries, and have even claimed they knew when the last days would come. God also warns us to beware of false profits. Which means the watchtower could be false. My analysis is that if God wanted us to understand it wouldn't he have made it more understandable? One thing I do not find acceptable in the Catholic church is they support Christmas even though it was founded on a pagan holiday in an attempt to cover up what they considered to be witchcraft. I have pretty much come to the conclusion that religion altogether is founded on lies. Not many people know that christianity was created for men to take power from women who were once considered to be the most respected Godesses in the world. That had nothing to do with witchcraft, it had to do with the fact that women were practiced in the arts of medicine handed down from generations, and men were not. So they conjured up the falacy of witchcraft so they could gain power. That is why they were so eager to burn women,(witches), at the stake for such ridiculous reasons. They wanted to make sure the Godesses knew to relent or die. Christianity is mans creation. ;-)

EXCELLENT QUESTION - and this could also apply to the Book of Mormon and all the other 'groups' whose leaders deviated from the Bible, and began a mass exodus of deceived folks from the very Bible which has stood the test of time. Read the last few verses of Revelation which tell what happens to folks who add to the words of God. Not a pretty thing to contemplate.

the watchtower is the Church of God people right? I'm not sure. but other sects & churches claim they are the only ones too that understand the Bible, & even have thier own Bibles.

I have yet to find no fault in the Old King James 1611 version. It cuts to the chase !

that may be why some people dont like it !!

Jehovah's Witnesses do not teach that their legal corporations (such as those with names similar to "Watchtower Society") are necessary for sincere bible students to understand bible truths. A century ago, when a handful of Witness publications suggested that the publications were a better choice for study than the bible itself, those publications were wrong. Of course, Jehovah's Witnesses have always insisted that the bible is the only infallible inspired means of knowing God's will and purposes.

What many anti-Witness activists fail to understand is that Jehovah's Witnesses understand and agree that the religions of Christendom served some purpose prior to Christ's second presence (which began in 1914). A Witness who had understandingly requested and received Christian baptism prior to 1914, even by a non-Witness religion, did not have to be re-baptized into the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. To repeat, prior to 1914, the religions of Christendom served some purpose to Jehovah God and Jesus Christ. Jehovah's Witnesses believe that many faithful Christians from the nineteen centuries between Christ's two presences will be among the "kings and priests" who rule alongside Jesus in heaven.

(Revelation 20:6) Happy and holy is anyone having part in the first resurrection; over these the second death has no authority, but they will be priests of God and of the Christ, and will rule as kings with him

Of course, that nineteen centuries of tolerance was no excuse for clergymen and certain knowledgeable laymen to perpetuate practices they knew to be unscriptural. As He did with rebellious ancient Israel, Jehovah tolerated their polluted worship only until it was God's time for Christ to step in, as he did circa 33 CE and 1914 CE.

(James 4:17) If one knows how to do what is right and yet does not do it, it is a sin

Never claimed you CAN'T understand the Bible without the Watchtower magazine. It is simply a study aid. It's kinda funny to me, if I made a study aid for something small like a video game, people would thank me, but try making one for the Bible and you get lambasted.

What makes you think that anyone at any time, including yourself, has actually ever understood the bible? Can you explain all of it?

No one has ever adopted Witness theology with just a copy of the Bible alone..that Is why they claim that only God divinely talks to the FDS (still makes me giggle when I have to type that, but I digress LOL) so you NEED witness literature to interpret the Bible.
