You get it. You actually get the point!
A majority of the self-professed Christians I meet have no earthly idea how to incorporate the teachings of Christ into a life based on faith in service of God and their fellow man.
However, worshipping God the Father and Jesus Christ counts as a religion, and Hebrews 10:24-25 spell it out for those who follow Christ:
"And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another..."
You will be strengthened and buoyed by people who view their faith in the same way that you do. Instead of recluding into your living room, seek out a church where living a Christ-like lifestyle is paramount to being a Christian.

If you're a Christian, why would you want to separate yourself from fellow believers? The Bible doesn't know of any "lone-ranger" Christians by choice. There are many believers in other parts of the world that would love the opportunity you and I have to go to a church freely and worship with other believers. So, I would really stress you to find another church to attend if the one you're attending now is giving you some problems.

Nope you would be chucking the artificial inventions of man that cling to the teachings of the Bible like barnacles. In short you would be getting it right. (IMHO)
edit-- small correction. My bad that I did not read the "If I quit going to church and" correctly. You really are asking two separate questions and my answer reflects the second. Which was to me asking about denominationalism.
Further I am not strongly "anti-denomination" however the hierarchy is extra-biblical and tradition based and therefore not "necessary for a scriptural church.
You should not however, stop assembling with other believers in a scriptural church. The real challenge is finding a good one. Sorry I misunderstood you I hope I cleared up my point of view.

Being a Christian has its basis in accepting Christ. There are no strings attached to Salvation except that you accept Christ as your Savior. There are no other "conditions." Having accepted Christ, however, we would naturally want to pursue a Christ-like life by following His teachings.

As a Christian you also believe in the 10 commandments. One of those 10 says to keep the Sabbath. Christ updated the commandments a bit by saying, "Love your neighbor as yourself and love God above all things." Can you love God above all things without going to church?

No. Religions can LEAD you into relationship with Christ, but they CANNOT save you. Only your relationship with Jesus can do that. But take note: Believers are better served by gathering together. A single log can burn out. Many logs keep each other aflame. Find a good nondenominational church.
I did.

Personally i do not believe it is a sin....there are such things as Ecumenical Churches....they accept every faith and spiritual concept and have respect for all.
But i do not believe that you have to go to church to be lead a spiritual life. God is everything or God is nothing....
I hope you find what it is you seek.
Blessings to you

I hope not because I no longer attend a church. I have a belief in God and Christ as having been touched by the divine. My belief is unorthodox but comfortable and right for me.

This is a difficult question to answer. My husband and I have quit attending a church here in our home town because we felt they did not preach all of God's word as His church is commanded to. But we hold church and Bible Study in our own homes. We have not quit church altogether, just hold church in our own homes. I never did go for applying a lot of scripture to prove a pouint. God did not intend us to take one scripture out of context to try and prove a point; scripture is to compared with scripture.

I wouldn't consider that a sin, but without the fellowship of other Christians I find it hard to stay on the right path at times.
