Just wondering because i might get one. And i dont want a name that's really a "dog" name, because all of the dogs that i have had were part of the family and they had a name that was like "tony" or "hailey" or something like that.

*i was thinking of naming her claire*

*i don't have the dog yet, and i don't know or care what color she is or what she looks like...i just want to know what you would name your little tiny female puppy! lol*

I have two dachshunds, a male and a female.

The male is named Rommel and the female is Franzi.

Rommel is a German name and Franzi's name came from a friend of my German exchange student. So I'd kept a trend of naming them (semi) German names as they are German dogs.

I think Claire is a very cute name for her. Or, you could get her and see what sort of personality she has a name her a name that fits her personality. :)

The name I had in mind was Rosalind; but Claire suits a miniature dachshund just fine.

For a long haired mini dachshund, Leisl or Trudi. It's a tribute to the dachshund's Teutonic heritage. Or, if you used Heidi, she could also be Heidi-hund.

There is an Irish Setter at my dog park named Lucy, after Lucille Ball because she's a "red head" too. If you get a red dachshund that could be cute and still fit to the people type name you at thinking of.

You really got an idea. Claire is nice. Or how about Candy or Carrie. Or even Christine.

Since the dachshund is a German breed, a German name might be nice. How about Trudi (it's short for Gertrude)? Or maybe Schatzi (means "little treasure")?

Angel. Since you said you don't want dog names then Angel is cute yet it can be a human name as well.
