If you buy the car and don't get a loan on it, no, but your state may make you get it and if you get caught you get a ticket. most states now make a driver have liability, so if lyou run into someone if is covered. If you go to a lot and they finance it they will make you get insurance before you drive off in it. The reason is because you have entered into a contract with them to make al payments on the car until it is paid off. If you don't have insuramce and wreck the thing or it's stolen, then you are less likely to pay it off. So they will only sell you the thing if you get insurance.

They have insurance people sometimes on site or can call someone. If you never had insurance before rates wil be pretty high. So if you have a family member jwith insurance see if they can put you on their insurance and then later you can get it in your name, but it will be less because you were already insured.

Most of the time the Car Lot will give you X amt of days to get full coverage insurance..and the insurance company makes you pay a down payment.

Well! you have to buy Comp/Coll only, usually car delears have an insurance company that bind this kind of coverage most of the times non renewable premiums, wich means that you have to buy your own one some were during the next 30 days this coverage doesn't included Liability like i said just Comprenhensive and Collision

IF I UNDERSTAND YOUR QUESTION CORRECTLY, YOU WILL NEED TO GET INSURANCE BEFORE YOU DRIVE THE VEHICLE OFF THE LOT BECAUSE YOU WILL BE FINANCING IT AND THE DEALER WILL WHAT PROOF OF IT FOR THEIR PROTECTION.

GET INSURANCE FROM AN INDEPENDENT COMPANY AND NOT THE DEALER.
