All scripture is inspired of God and benificial for teaching, for reproving, and for setting things straight.

Salvation is a free gift, because you can not earn it.

But just because it is a free gift, doesn't mean that there aren't conditions.

Faith is a condition. If you don't have faith, you aren't saved.
Love is a condition. If you don't have love, you aren't saved.
Obedience is a condition. If you don't obey, you aren't saved.
Repentance is a condition. If you don't repent, you aren't saved.

People unlike animals have freewill. What you choose to do effects your standing with God.

Read the book of Hebrews (also written by Paul)
Read the book of James.
Read chapter 3 of Revelation.

you should have said receive instead of earn as people will call you on even the slightest of mistakes.
are you haveing a problem with the Calvinist faith?
the best way to learn about a certain faith is to visit the worship meetings and talk to their Church leaders

We don't earn salvation. Salvation is a gift from God that we receive through faith - which is also a gift from God.

Ephesians 2:8-9 (KJV) - For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

First off...

A true "Calvinist" will reject the KJV as a poor translation, and will quote from the ESV. which is what I will quote from...

So here is the bottom line of T.U.L.I.P.

Revelation 20:15 "And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire."

But how do you "get into" that book?

You don't..! The names written in that book were written before the Earth was even formed in the 6 day creation event...

Revelation 13:8 "... everyone whose name has not been written before the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb that was slain."

What control do we have over our own eternal destiny?

None!

That control never existed, because it was removed before existence itself existed...
