what if he doesnt give a d@mn how you worship him?(hence different religions) and just hopes you worship him one way or another? I mean I think when we die he could tell us that yes it was this way or that way instead of just sending us to hell for worshipping him the wrong way.

Somebody told me once before... "pray as you are." This has been a guiding phrase for me when I was discovering my faith.

I found that God is a welcoming God and all my prayers are for my benefit. Let me explain briefly....

When I worship or medidate, I found the best way would be to notice where I am drawn or where my heart moves... both in happiness or sadness. This movement of the heart, in my case, became fingerposts to my journey.

From there, prayer changed....

It became poetry.... sometimes it is a song that the soul dances to.

Enjoy your prayers... and if by chance you fall asleep while you do... It's ok. Your sleep becomes a prayer too.

I remember a Teresa of Avila in her book:
"Interior Castle", translated by Mirabai Starr

She said:
"Remember that every moment is a prayer."

Absolutely. God is not the god of all religions. He has a very specific way He wants to be worshiped, and He spelled it out in His word. The book of Revelation tells us that the cherubim fly around his throne 24 hours a day, saying "Holy, holy holy". Why? Maybe because He wants them to! He doesn't send us to hell for worshiping the wrong way- He gives us the choice to accept His Son and live in heaven, or reject His Son and live in hell. I think that's a pretty easy choice.
Those who choose to accept Jesus as Lord, He shows how He wants to be worshiped. The scriptures teach us that worship is more than just saying 'praise the Lord' or singing hymns. God wants our obedience. To obey is BETTER than sacrifice, the scripture tells us. Having faith, loving others, serving others, trusting Him, being generous- these are all acts of worship. Do other religions do this? Sure- but remember, they don't all worship the one true God- and that's the catch.

I doubt it matters. There are several paths to the same place. We all have the same destination, we just get their differently. Christians, Muslims Judaism, Wicca and all the Heathen and Pagan religions, Hindu's and all the worshiping religions that I have not mentioned in this brief post as well as Atheist are all right.
They are all Valid. Some are based on logic, some on Books, others on mysticism.. but we all go to the same place and have no control of that.

If he's even there, I don't think he cares how you worshipped him so much as what you did in your life to make the world better and that you used your brain.

Even when I was a devout Christian, I never believed hell was a place for someone who said their prayers different than I did. That's just stupid, and not in synch with the idea of a loving creator.

There is really no right or wrong 'way'. There is only the right or wrong Person (the right or wrong God). There is only one God, Jesus Christ.
Him

Exo 20:1 And God spake all these words, saying,
Exo 20:2 I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
Exo 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
Exo 20:4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
Exo 20:5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them:

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Why would any being worthy of being called a god want to be worshiped at all? Doesn't that seem kind of narcissistic and immature?

First off I am not Atheist or Christian, I am on the fence about it all, so I would think if you at least keep him in your thoughts, and heart, he isn't going to give a rats a**, he loves us all, that is if he exists, he is all powerful and loving, so even though I don't go to church and praise him, I always think about him or say little prayers to him, and I think he is ok with that, I haven't felt his wrath, so I am assuming he either isn't there or he is good with me.

no god would want you to worship him at all....this ideology reminds of that of a young child who always needs the attention....

honestly if i really felt there was a god, id probly prefer to go to hell, theres no way id wanna go to heaven to meet the whims of this bully of a god serveing and worshiping constantly doesnt sound like heaven to me

it seems to me that everything you wanna do you cant, you mustn't, you wont and if you do your gonna burn in hell. sounds like one hell of a guy.

i think you got it right agnostic boy, as far as beleiving in god goes, just beleive in the decency in yourself and thats the only way to live. not on your knees blowing the metaphorical c0ck of god.

i hope this helps, cheers mate....
