Yes its absolutely possible. You should get him a mouthgaurd from the dentist ASAP. A dentist can help you with this problem whether it be help to train his mouth not to do that during his sleep or giving him something so that he doesnt damage his teeth.

Many children grind their teeth at night. It does no harm, and I have never had to treat them for worn-down teeth or any other associated problems. It is part of their teeth and jaw patterns of chewing developing.
Splints are a big no-no for this condition in young kids.
Get some earplugs for yourself!

Yes. I would try find out why he bruxes. A night guard, contrary to the previous answer, will not impede his jaw growth. It can be worn at night only, and is only on one dental arch and covers the teeth only. Bony growth and dentition are different. That is why orthodontists straighten teeth even though the jaws are normal in size.

That what bruxism is, tooth grinding. But what ever you do, do not use a guard. His jaw is still growing, and a guard will stop the jaw from growing. This will create all kinds of problems in the future. Ask your dentist what to do.

You HAVE to make him wear the gusrd, this will have serious impact on how his teeth grow in, both baby teeth and adult! No matter how much he fights you have got to make him wear it!!!!
