ok i posted this ? earlier but no one answered it :( my cat has a vet appt in 3 days to see if she is preg. she is 4 and a half weeks preg (if she is preg) will the vet be able to tell if she is preg or not by just palpating her stomach, because i dont have the money to spend on x-rays?

Yes, they will most definitely be able to tell you, especially of how mayn weeks she is.

Yes, they will most likely be able to tell by just feeling the stomach- do not attempt to do so yourself because pushing too hard can cause harm to the kitten fetus'. It really is best to get an x-ray done though so you know how many kittens she is expecting incase a problem occurs during the pregnancy.
Also, if you cannot afford a $40 x-ray then you cannot afford your cat being pregnant. Really should have thought that over.

I dont think an Xray would be needed ... they should be going for a sample from the Vulva area I guess ... also a stomach touch should just tell the doctor what he is looking for.

your veterinarian can palpate the cat's abdomen at about 23 days of gestation and detect the fetuses in the uterus or they could use ultrasound.

Your vet will most likely take a vaginal sample from her. Explain your situation to your vet.
