If you unlock the door for a girl and walk to the other side of the car are you really hoping that she unlocks your door. Is that really a test?

The only reason I know that is because a guy opened my door and then I unlocked the back door for my friend. Then I get in he shuts both the doors and walks around the back. My friend starts to tell me "hurry unlock the door!" I'm like "what" quick unlock it and so I reach over and unlock it. He gets in and he is like really exicited and says "Girls don't usually do that" I reply I didn't know that your suppost too. (Joy) told me I was suppost to." I've been doing it ever since except when I forget and recently the husband told me if we were on a date I would fail. Ooops. I didn't know it was an actual test. After that incident I thought that it was just poliet.

The question is do guys really test girls in this way. Most cars it would seem natural with automatic locks but a little out of the ordinary with regular locks

Well, Peggy, to tell you the truth, I can't recall a girl ever unlocking the door for me. But if you are doing it, you can certainly ride in my car. ;-) Just kidding. But that is very nice and considerate. And, no, it's not a test. Never even thought of it that way. I was brought up to be polite and courteous and to open and close the girls door. Period.

I wouldn't really say it is a test however, it does show us that you respect us as much as we are showing respect to you. I mean, if a guy is opening your door, helpingyou in, and then closing your door. The least you can do is unlock his for him.

This is straight out of the movie A Bronx Tale. A little impractical in this day and age of keyless entry.
